  1. We ate at Hugo’s for the first time today (Sun., May 19th, 2019) and it was overall, a good experience.

Food is served almost cafeteria-style; you go in, get in line, grab a tray, and let them know what you want. My son ordered a personal pizza with pepperoni, garlic knot on the side, and I had the caeser salad with a garlic knot on the side.

It was a slow day at the park, and we ate early (11:00), so the lines were not long at all, and I feel like even when they are busy, they will probably be able to move people through pretty quickly.

Service in the line was so-so. No one who was serving was particularly friendly. No smiles, no greeting, they just kind of stared at you and waited for your order. When I asked the server if I got my salad at the cashier station (I could see that salads were located there, but I wasn’t sure), she said “well, you could”-I still have no idea if I could have ordered a salad from the line or not.

Folks at the cashier station were much more friendly, by the way.

There are bathrooms at Hugo’s, but strangely, they weren’t open when we were there.

There is one small station with plastic cutlery and napkins; if the say were any busier, I could see a bottleneck happening there.

The dining area was large and clean; there were staff members walking around taking trays away and cleaning tables; they were very friendly.

    Now, for the FOOD!

The personal pizza my son got was very good. It was large (probably about the size of 2 regular slices of pizza-2 younger kids or 2 adults that aren’t super hungry could share it and be satisfied). The pizzas are made in a brick oven, and have a very crunchy texture to the crust. The pizza seemed pretty fresh, and the sauce is a chunky, fresh tomato sauce.

My caesar salad had good flavor, but A; really was not large enough for an entree’ salad, and B; didn’t have many ingredients on it (romaine lettuce, shaved parmesan, and croutons). The dressing was a good caeser dressing; again, I mostly wish it had either been larger, or had grilled chicken on it.

The garlic knots were decent size (you get 1 for you side), and were buttery and fresh-yummy! They came with a cup of the chunky tomato sauce for dipping.

Overall, wating at Hugo’s was a positive experience, and we will definitely eat there again!

    1. I got the salad as a side on my meal plan. I didnt think it was an entree? Where are the garlic knots? They must not have had those the day I was there. Great description of the site. I will be going back as well.

  2. I visited HUGOS for the first time on May 11th, a Thursday prior to school being out for the summer, at exactly noon. The line moved quickly. I tried the specialty pizza, and it was quite good. It was a nice size portion as well. I also had a side salad. They are in a cooler near the checkout line. It was a BIG salad. Dressings were in packets above on the cooler. Guaranteed fresh! Pop was behind the cashier. I would like to see a diet caffeine free something at the Point offered in the restaurants. I get migraines from caffeine. Maybe a diet Sprite? I thought it would be hard to refill your drink or water cup as hard to access after paying. Tables were comfortable. I would have liked to see them wiped off more often. An idea I saw at another location outside the park was to sit wipe containers at each table in the middle. People at that place wiped off their tables when they sat down and at times when they left. Nice option. Idea CP? I enjoyed my meal and plan to go back with my meal plan. I would get both again. Would love to see a pasta with marinara option.

  3. The front line staff( Naomi, Jose , Paulo, E , Juan- Managua Kylie) impressed me to the maximum ( I rarely say this- it takes some hustle) but I have some allergy issues – and all day long at other places I got maybe a fruit cup / French fries ( blech 🤢) but these folks got me set up nicely-avoiding my allergen foods – the cooks were Josh & Camilo! Cooks need respect too! Many thank yous!
