2017 Free Cedar Fair Ticket (Cedar Point, Kings Island, etc.) for Giving Blood

140716 Red Cross Blood Drive Cedar Point Ticket

Before we had season passes, one of our favorite programs to take part in was donating blood to the Red Cross and getting a free Cedar Point ticket (Note: we still donate blood even without the ticket benefit). So we are always happy when we see the program return each year because not only does your blood donation save countless lives, it gives everyone a chance to be able to visit the park.

Fact: Someone in the U.S. needs blood every two seconds.

The process is quick and simple, and you are allowed to donate blood once every 60 days. So assuming you get in at the beginning of June, you can do so again in August (when maybe they will add additional free Cedar Fair ticket dates).

While the promotion is labeled as a free Cedar Fair ticket of choice, you need to verify with your donation center which tickets will be available. Each center will not have a pile of tickets from each of the parks. Most likely they will be regionalized, meaning Ohio and surrounding States will offer Cedar Point or Kings Island tickets, etc. Again confirm with your donation center when making a reservation.

So where can you donate blood in 2017 and get a free Cedar Fair ticket?

Value: Cedar Point Popcorn Bucket with Refills

150510 Cedar Point Popcorn Bucket

POPCORN BUCKET – Some of the best meal value when visiting Cedar Point comes in the form of the meal plans. Pay one price for the All-Day or All-Season food plans, and eat a bunch of food throughout the day at different locations around the park (and Cedar Point Shores). However, sometimes guests are looking for their favorite salty snack, popcorn.

Cedar Point pops their own popcorn fresh on site daily. For $7.29 you purchase a bucket filled with popcorn. Then bring your bucket back the rest of the season and for $0.99 each time they will refill the bucket.

In the past, popcorn buckets have been able to be refilled at sister Cedar Fair parks like Kings Island, Carowinds, and Dorney Park. While we assume the buckets will still work this season at other parks, we noticed Kings Island is no longer selling the popcorn buckets.

Popcorn buckets can be an excellent value for families and friends who do not mind sharing.

Where can you purchase popcorn at Cedar Point?

Several locations around the park sell the popcorn buckets, making it convenient for you to get refills.

Purchase the popcorn bucket at the following locations:

High Energy Station

Town Hall Drinks and Popcorn Cart

Sweets ‘n Treats Candy Shoppe

Cedar Point Shores Lemonade Stand

Exclusive Carowinds Starbucks Fury Frappuccino

170421 Carowinds Starbucks Fury Frappuccino (2)

One of the surprises we discovered during the 2017 season at the Carowinds Starbucks was an exclusive Fury Frappuccino.

When Knott’s Berry Farm introduced their new Starbucks in 2016, we were really excited to learn of a secret menu item that was available all year long, but only by request. The boysenberry frappuccino, made from the park’s iconic berry, was a smash hit and a fantastic, must-try option on every visit to the farm.

As Starbucks have been rolling out in Cedar Fair parks, we are always hopeful to find either a signature menu item, or a secret one, typically centered around a frappuccino.

We were delighted to see that the Carowinds Starbucks offered a Fury frappuccino after it’s namesake 325′ record breaking roller coaster.

The Fury treat features a vanilla bean frappuccino with white mocha (blue) and matcha (green) drizzles. Matcha is a form of green tea.
