180629 Cedar Point Johnny Rockets Gardein Black Bean Veggie Burger (1)

We hear you and boy do we agree that we wish there were more healthier vegetarian and vegan options throughout Cedar Point. Trust us when we say we are always on the hunt for authentic options.

We have a less than stellar review of the junk Boca burgers that are passed off as veggie burgers throughout Cedar Point, but when we saw Johnny Rockets offers a Gardein black bean burger, it sparked our interest.

Gardein is known for their meatless options that are vegan and typically very good! Our fridge at home is stocked full of their products!

We were even more excited to see that the Gardein black bean burger is included on the Cedar Point dining plans!

While all burgers are typically a la carte at Johnny Rockets, the dining plan gets guests the Gardein black bean burger and a serving of fries.

Tip: Did you know you can have cherry coke made the old-fashioned way by mixing cherry syrup with Coke? We learn something new everyday!

The normal Gardein black bean burger is served on a brioche bun, but a whole wheat bun is available as a substitute. We also specifically asked for a dairy free bun, we were told only the mini hotdog buns were available.

That is a bit strange given the Cedar Point website states “there is no dairy in any Nickels (bread) products that we serve in the park,” though we are not 100% sure which are Nickels and which are not.

Regardless, the Gardein black bean burger never disappoints. The burger does not dry out like the Boca burger. It remains moist and flavorful. The burger was cut in half to be able to fit into the mini hotdog buns, but that was perfectly acceptable. The best part is the meal remains light for a hot day of walking around the park and riding roller coasters.
