  1. We were pleasantly surprised by Chickie’s. It’s always nice to find a sit-down restaurant in the park, and to find one that has menu items on the Dining Plan is wonderful!

The day we went (Sun, May 19, 2019) the park was not crowded, and since we were eating early (3:30), we were seated immediately, and the restaurant was almost empty.

Service was great and fast, very friendly (something else that can be lacking in the “quick eats” locations where the workers are stressed, hot, and generally miserable).

My son ordered the boneless chiken wings with the dry rub. They came with an order of the crab fries and cheese sauce. I had a chicken cheesesteak sandwich with onions and cheese; also came with crab fries and cheese sauce.

Overall, I thought the quality of the food was good, and the portions were adequate. The chicken in the cheesesteak was a little dry (I’m guessing it was fresh at 11:00, but had probably sat for awhile since it wasn’t a busy day), but not terribly so, and the cheese and onions helped witb the dryness. The flavor was good, as well.

My son (who doesn’t like spicy stuff) did like the chicken wings, but thought they were a little too spicy-I tried one and didn’t think that. They really were more like your basic chicken tenders, just smaller and with seasoning on them. Pretty good, but not mind-blowing by any means.

On to the “famous” crab fries. They were very good-crispy and seasoned with delicious bay seasoning. The cheese sauce was terrific-I was expecting your run-of-the-mill velveeta style nacho-cheese dip, but this was something completely different. I am not a cheese expert, so can’t say what type of cheese it was, but it was yummy, and the serving size was very large.

Overall, I would definitely recommend Chickie’s and Pete’s for a nice sit-down break, especially if you are on your way out of the park for the day!

  2. I wish the chicken salad looked something like the one in the picture. It was almost all lettuce. Would be nice to get a good chicken salad, but you just gave me lettuce with a few blue cheese sprinkles and almost no chicken. Philly steaks arre great
