<p>Love the music theme while waiting in Cedar Point&#8217;s Millennium Force station? Long before guests got to enjoy one of the tallest and best roller coasters on the planet, Millennium Force&#8217;s impact slowly became a reality. </p>
<p>While the design and development side is a closely guarded secret, the first details of Cedar Point&#8217;s new giga-coaster (a roller coaster over 300-feet tall) became apparent on July 2, 1999, when Cedar Fair filed the trademark for the name Millennium Force. (Note: an earlier trademark was filled for just the name &#8220;Millennium&#8221; on September 12, 1997.) </p>
<p>July 7, 1999 the first pieces of mystery track appear on property, which guests immediately identify as Intamin roller coaster track. </p>

<p>July 22, 1999, Cedar Point announces their world record breaking new 310-foot roller coaster, Millennium Force. </p>

<p>By August, land clearing began to take place. As the park closed on October 10 for the 1999 season, crews began disassembling the Giant Ferris Wheel and clearing Kid Arthur&#8217;s Court for its future location. </p>

<p>Monday, October 11, the first support columns were already being installed for the brake run.</p>

<p>Shortly after the turn of the century, Millennium Force&#8217;s hill was topped off the first week of January 2000.</p>

<p>After an exhaustive construction schedule in the cold Lake Erie winter, Cedar Point opened Millennium Force to the media on May 11, 2000 and opened to the public on May 13.</p>
