Each year, Cedar Point’s Winter Chill Out event is held at the park during the cold winter off-season to raise money for charity and to give those in attendance not only a rare look at the park, but also insider access into more of what is in store for the current year.

This year hundreds of guests will experience Cedar Point for #WinterChillOut as part of the sold out special event. Guests are divided into groups on guided tours around the park, including behind-the-scenes access to rides and areas not normally accessible to the public. In addition, Cedar Point feeds guests lunch, park management give a presentation on what is to come for the new season, and there are always special surprise gifts for attendees.

Most details of the event are highly guarded secrets until the day of the event. So lets take a look at some of the things your five senses will not experience at #WinterChillOut.

Sight

Things you will not see during Winter Chill Out:

– Massive crowds that you see on a typical day in the park.
– The free-flying action of All-Wheels Extreme
– No waves crashing on the shores of Lake Erie as seen from WindSeeker
– A beach party in front of Hotel Breakers
– The 2020 park map
– Kids getting soaked on the Snake River Falls bridge
– The smile of a kid getting off their first ride on Woodstock Express

Sound

Things you will not hear during Winter Chill Out include:

– The silent soar of GateKeeper through the keyholes above the main entrance.
– The whistle of the Lake Erie & Cedar Point Railroad as it leaves the station.
– Screams of guests experiencing the thrill of their favorite coaster
– The click of safety harnesses
– The water cannons on Maverick
– Barking of the games attendants to step right up and win a prize

Taste

Things you will not taste during Winter Chill Out:

– Leftover end of the year 75% off candy
– Deep fried cheese on a stick
– Cold beer and wine from the Trail Tavern
– The refreshing coolness of a frozen snow cone (though catching snowflakes on your tongue is acceptable)
– Over 150 flavor combination of Coca-Cola Freestyle
– A warm coffee from Starbucks to start off your day

Smell

The appealing smells that will not be experienced during Winter Chill Out include:

– Freshly made funnel cakes
– Smells of the lake rolling in on breezes off Lake Erie
– Sunscreen
– Fresh cut fries doused in malt vinegar
– The chlorine of the water rides
– The fog of HalloWeekends Haunt

Touch

Things you will not touch during Winter Chill Out:

– If you do not wear gloves, you likely will not be feeling anything due to cold temperatures and windchill off the lake. Dress warmly our friends.
– The cool metal of a turnstile
– The mist off the cooling fans in the ride queues
– A hug from everyone’s favorite beagle, Snoopy
– The warmth of the new bedding at Hotel Breakers
– Your hand will not be stamped as you exit the park
