<p>Located in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Dorney Park is one of the smaller <a href="http://cpfoodblog.com/which-cedar-fair-park-is-the-largest/">Cedar Fair parks</a> that offers a lot of value and fun packed into the amusement park. The park features classic rides, some great roller coasters, and various unique attractions you will not find in any of the Cedar Fair parks. In addition to getting to see and ride a childhood favorite from Cedar Point, the Demon Drop, we were most excited to meet Chef Jan Giejda and try some of his famous smoked BBQ.</p>
<p>The Smokehouse Barbecue, which debuted in 2015, offers a variety of freshly prepared meat options with handmade sides.</p>
<p>Side options available with the meals include freshly prepared mac &; cheese, coleslaw, baked beans, fresh cut fries, or sauerkraut.</p>
<p>During our first visit to Smokehouse Barbecue, we elected to order the Beef Brisket and Grilled Kielbasa, and save the BBQ pulled pork for our second day visiting the park.</p>
<p><strong>Beef Brisket</strong></p>

<p>After being smoked to perfection, the brisket is hand carved in front of the guest. You get the option of the meat served alone or on a bun. Guests also have the option of having BBQ sauce added.</p>
<p>The brisket was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of smokiness while maintaining tenderness and the natural meat juices.</p>
<p>The roll the brisket is served on is a nice hearty roll and not the cheap sandwich roll found elsewhere.</p>
<p>We elected to choose the coleslaw as our side, and were very happy we did. The pickled slaw was one of the most unique versions we had ever eaten and was AMAZING, making it a perfect side dish!</p>
<p><strong>Grilled Kielbasa</strong></p>

<p>A very generous grilled kielbasa comes served on a bun with sauerkraut. The kielbasa had a nice crispy skin with an excellent flavor. In addition, the sauerkraut was GREAT! Often times sauerkraut can be a meal killer as it&#8217;s either undercooked or flavorless. Chef Jan&#8217;s sauerkraut was fantastic, and I could not share it fast enough with our kids.</p>
<p><strong>BBQ Pulled Pork</strong></p>
<p>The Dorney Park Smokehouse Barbecue uses pork raised without antibiotics on local family farms. Great choice and farm fresh!</p>
<p>We elected to save trying the BBQ Pulled Pork until Dollar Days, where for $1 they offered a slider version.</p>
<p>We can not say enough how much our kids LOVED the pulled pork sliders! While our kids are ride obsessed, time and time again we found ourselves back at the Smokehouse because 1) our kids wanted to chat with Chef Jan and tell them about their day, and 2) to order up another round of sliders.</p>
<p>The pork was nicely smoked and very tasty, and again served on a nice roll.</p>
<p>Our affinity for the coleslaw also had us adding it directly onto the sandwiches, giving a nice contrasting flavor and texture.</p>

<p>Did we also mention that all of the above meal options are included on the dining plans?</p>
<p>The Smokehouse Barbecue sells some premium signature side options that are not included as meal side dishes. These include a Smokehouse Onion ($7.99), Fried Pickle Slices ($4.99), and Hush Puppies ($3.99).</p>

<p>The Smokehouse Barbecue also serves great <a href="http://cpfoodblog.com/review-dorney-park-hand-breaded-chicken-tenders/">Hand Breaded Chicken Tenders</a>, which we also reviewed the mac and cheese.</p>
