<p><P><P>One of the rather surprising menu items that was added to Cedar Point for the 2015 was the Philly steak sandwich. For the 2014 season, Cedar Point added <a href="http://cpfoodblog.com/park-food-guides/cedar-point-food/chickies-and-petes/">Chickie&#8217;s &#038; Pete&#8217;s</a> sit down restaurant by Raptor, bringing the traditional Philly cheesesteak to the midway. So it was rather surprising to see <a href="http://cpfoodblog.com/cedar-point-food/skyride-refreshments/">SkyRide Refreshments</a> offer a Cedar Point version of the cheesesteak in the park.</p>
<p>What was even more interesting in the 2016 season, the Chickie&#8217;s &#038; Pete&#8217;s Philly sandwich was on the <a href="http://cpfoodblog.com/park-food-guides/cedar-point-food/">Cedar Point dining plans</a>, while the park version was not. It was not until the 2017 season that the Sky Ride Refreshments steak sandwich was finally offered as a dining plan option. Coincidentally, 2017 was also the year that the Cedar Point Chickie&#8217;s &#038; Pete&#8217;s scaled back to a half sandwich when ordering from the dining plan.</p>
<p>So we wanted to try the park version of the Philly Steak Sandwich and see if it was worth it.</p>
<p>A steak sandwich basket at SkyRide Refreshments includes choice of fries, fruit cup, or side salad. However, you can also purchase the sandwich a la carte.</p>
<p>The freshly prepared sandwich was made within a couple of minutes. The meat is piled into a 6&#8243; sub roll and topped with green peppers and onions and melted cheese. </p>
<p>How was the Cedar Point Philly Steak Sandwich?</p>

<p>When we reviewed this menu option back in 2016, we were not impressed. So much so that we did not even try one in 2017. However, for 2018 we decided to try the sandwich again. </p>
<p>At least compared to the sandwich we tried in years past, at least this time they filled up the sandwich. Now the steak, onions, peppers and cheese fill the sandwich, where in the past it left a lot of empty bites.</p>
<p>After trying both the Sky Ride cheesesteak and the Chickie&#8217;s &#038; Pete&#8217;s cheesesteak, they are completely different sandwiches. </p>
<p>We really enjoyed the Sky Ride cheesesteak this year, which offers quite a different flavor composition compared to the ones at Chickie&#8217;s &#038; Pete&#8217;s. In other words, we are really happy Cedar Point appears to have worked out the kinks and offers a unique menu option not found elsewhere on property. </p>
