<p>Being located right on Lake Erie, one would think that we should have at least one seafood restaurant in the park. Fortunately, for 2019, <a href="https://cpfoodblog.com/park-food-guides/cedar-point-food/lakeside-express/">Lakeside Express</a> will be the featured dining location with several new seafood options that had us really excited for the new season!</p>
<p>First we have the <a href="https://cpfoodblog.com/review-perch-combo-meal-deal/">perch sandwich</a>, which has been at Cedar Point for a number of years and the quiet sleeper among favorite menu items.</p>
<p>New this season, there are additional seafood options that include <a href="https://cpfoodblog.com/review-cedar-point-lakeside-express-crab-cakes/">crab cakes</a> and <a href="https://cpfoodblog.com/review-cedar-point-funnel-cake-battered-fried-shrimp/">funnel cake battered shrimp</a>. In addition, Cedar Point is offering a new Fish &#038; Chips option that really impressed us!</p>
<p>Lakeside Express offers a large piece of cod that is battered and fried. Served on a bed of fries. </p>
<p>While the fries are your standard issue fries and nothing special, the fish was very sufficient in size, cooked perfectly, and very flavorful. The light white fish easily flaked apart when taking a bite.</p>
<p>While one could use the Heinz tartar sauce, it really did not need any sauce. Although that would be our one suggestion of something to improve the fish and chips; adding a featured sauce. </p>
<p>The only other suggestion we would like to see implemented is serving the fish &#038; chips with a side of housemade coleslaw, and not a little Dixie cup portion. We would much rather less fries and more coleslaw should this be carried forward.</p>
