<p>Cedar Point opens on May 9 for the 2020 season to <a href="https://cpfoodblog.com/round-up-of-2020-cedar-fair-opening-days/">celebrate it&#8217;s 150 season</a>. In addition, the park is holding the typical <a href="https://cpfoodblog.com/2020-cedar-point-ohio-state-day/">Ohio State Day</a> on May 8.</p>
<p>Cedar Point has now announced Just for Fun Weekend &#038; Anniversary Platinum Preview Nights, giving guests the chance to see the park before it opens to the general public.</p>
<h2>Just for Fun Weekend</h2>
<p>How often do you hear the words FREE when it comes to Cedar Point? The park has announced a very special Just for Fun Weekend May 2 and 3 from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. In the early years of the park, rides were operated on individual ticket books that were redeemed. Guests got into the park for free, but visited each attraction using the ticket system.</p>
<p>Cedar Point is paying tribute to this style of operation by giving FREE admission and parking on May 2 and 3. In order to ride select attractions, guests need to buy a wristband for $20.20 each. <strong>NOTE: You must purchase your wristbands online when registering, as they will not be available on day of event.</strong></p>
<p>The front of the park along the Main and Lakeside midways will be open during Just for Fun Weekend.</p>
<p>Scheduled attractions include: Blue Streak, GateKeeper, maXair, Raptor, Valravn, Wicked Twister, WindSeeker, Kiddy Kingdom, Planet Snoopy, Cadillac Cars, Cedar Downs Racing Derby, Dodgem, Matterhorn, Ocean Motion, Scrambler, Sky Ride, Tiki Twirl and Troika</p>
<p>In addition to rides, guests will be able to try the new French Quarter Confections, meet the Peanuts characters, see a special film celebrating Cedar Point&#8217;s history in the Jack Aldrich Theatre, pick up limited-edition 150th anniversary merchandise at Celebration Central and be among the first to collect and trade Anniversary buttons.</p>
<p>This should be a really cool opportunity for guests to walk around and experience the park for the iconic 150th anniversary!</p>
<h2>Anniversary Platinum Preview Nights</h2>
<p>Every year we hear guests <del datetime="2020-03-10T15:20:17+00:00">complain</del> request that Platinum passholders get early access to the park ahead of the park opening. Cedar Point has graciously announced a bonus opportunity exclusive for those with Platinum passes (take that Gold passers!).</p>
<p>Cedar Point’s Anniversary Platinum Passholder Preview Nights will take place on May 6 &#038; 7 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Guests need to RSVP with a free ticket online and claim a specific boarding time slot for the new Snake River Expedition debuting this year.</p>

<p>Platinum passholders will also be given the opportunity to enjoy free food from French Quarter Confections, The Roost, The Mac Shack, Senor Vargas and The Corral (drink and dining plans will not work). </p>
<p>Platinum Passholders can purchase exclusive anniversary merchandise at Celebration Central (Pagoda Gift Shop) and the new Button Stop.</p>
