190111 Cedar Fair MARKETING CRM – LOYALTY REWARDS MANAGER

We all know you come to a Cedar Fair amusement park to have FUN; ride some roller coasters or flat rides, use your dining plan to enjoy some meals, or sit back and relax during any of the live entertainment shows. However, what if you could be rewarded for doing the things you already love?

Near the end of the 2018 season, Six Flags rolled out a membership reward plan for its season passholders. To encourage engagement (and spending more time, which equals more money), the Six Flags programs lets guests earn points when they visit the park, go on rides, see a show, or make a purchase. Members can also earn additional bonus points for participating in contests, taking surveys and reading newsletters.

The entire program is managed via the mobile app. Points can then be redeemed towards free food, souvenirs, park tickets, and one-of-a-kind in-park experiences. Think of it as the airline miles reward program of amusement parks.

Well Cedar Fair, who is known for playing follow the leader when it comes to new ideas, must have liked the rewards program idea pretty well, because new clues indicate the program will be implemented soon.

Thanks to a tip from Andrew H., a new Loyalty/Rewards Manager position has been opened up on the corporate Marketing Team in Charlotte, NC.

The position goes on to state, “This full time position will report to our VP of CRM and is responsible for developing, executing and reporting on a compelling loyalty awards incentive program related to the Cedar Fair Membership.”

What will the program look like? It is too early to tell at this point in time. For those loyal to the program, and willing to rack up lots of points, the program could become lucrative to getting you some snacks that you have been craving, free line skip passes, or discounts on merchandising, tickets, or food around the parks.

Stay tuned, as the program is just in its infancy, and we assume at this point, will not be rolled out until near the end of the 2019 season. In addition, like typical Cedar Fair fashion, the new program may be slowly rolled out at select parks until they can all be brought online.
