Cedar Fair purchased the original Schlitterbahn water park in New Braunfels and sister park Schlitterbahn Galveston in July 2019 (Cedar Fair Signs Definitive Agreement to Acquire Two Iconic Texas Water Parks From Schlitterbahn). At the time of the acquisition, Schlitterbahn offered season passes to each of their parks for $144.99 each adult (online); $104.99 each child/senior (online). Season passes were park specific, but they did offer an All-Texas Platinum pass for $275 that included New Braunfels, Galveston, Corpus Christi and South Padre Island Schlitterbahn parks.

Note Schlitterbahn South Padre Island was not part of the Cedar Fair deal and will be rebranded as Beach Park at Isla Blanca. Schlitterbahn Corpus Christi has been rebranded as Waves Resort Corpus Christi and the Schlitterbahn family operates the park for a new owner.

With two Schlitterbahn parks now under ownership by Cedar Fair, the company has decided to lower season passes to only $89.99 each, the likes of which have not been seen at a Schlitterbahn park in almost 20 years! The sale for both the New Braunfels and Galveston Schlitterbahn locations runs through January 6, 2020.

While Schlitterbahn season passes still remain park specific, since being acquired by Cedar Fair, the good news is a 2020 Platinum pass now includes admission to both New Braunfels and Galveston parks.

The new lower season pass rate pays for itself in less than two visits and will likely see a significant increase in members for the 2020 season under the new ownership. Schlitterbahn season passes include free parking, and guests are allowed to bring in their own coolers.

Also for 2020, Cedar Fair is rolling out the all season souvenir cups for $31.99, allowing free refills every 15 minutes.
