Round-Up of 2020 Cedar Fair Opening Days

Are you suffering from the winter blues and excited to get back into your favorite amusement park(s)? Maybe you are in spring break preparation phase and looking for where to get your thrills.

With parks opening for the 2020 season being all over the place, let take a look at what we all have to look forward to in the new year.

California’s Great America

California’s Great America will open on March 21, 2020. Look for the rebranded water park, South Bay Shores, to open later in the year.

Canada’s Wonderland

Canada’s Wonderland opens May 1, 2020, and is getting Mountain Bay Cliffs & Beagle Brigade Airfield.

Carowinds

Carowinds will open March 21, 2020. The park will receive new Boogie Board Racer & Grand Carnivale (June 13-July 5).

Cedar Point

Cedar Point opens to the public on May 9, 2020. Guests can also purchase tickets to The Ohio State day, May 8. Cedar Point’s 150 anniversary will feature all kinds of new merchandise, throwback details, new restaurants, nightly celebration and parade, and a reintroduction of Snake River Expeditions.

Dorney Park

Dorney Park opens May 1, 2020. Seaside Splashworks at Wildwater Kingdom will open May 23.

Gilroy Gardens

Opens March 27, 2020.

Kings Dominion

Kings Dominion opens March 28, 2020. Kings Dominion is adding Coconut Shores Addition in Soak City, which opens May 23.

Kings Island

Kings Island opens to the public on April 11, 2020. A special passholder preview is April 10 and will include the new Orion roller coaster and rethemed Area 72.

Knott’s Berry Farm

Knott’s Berry Farm is open year round. The park celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2020 and celebrates a Knott’s Family Reunion. Look for a new Knott’s Bear-y Tales: Return to the Fair dark ride to replace Voyage to the Iron Reef.

In addition, look for a new Build-A-Bear location to be added in the Marketplace, new 100th anniversary pin collection, and the return of Seasons of Fun with the kick-off of the Peanuts Celebration weekends beginning January 25th through March 1st, plus select dates.

Michigan’s Adventure

Michigan’s Adventure opens May 22, 2020 with a special passholder preview on May 20 from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Camp Snoopy will debut when the park opens.

Schlitterbahn

Schlitterbahn Waterpark New Braunfels opens March 7, 2020 (limited operation) and Schlitterbahn Waterpark Galveston opens February 29 (limited operation).
