Have you tried the Kings Dominion Country Kitchen Roast Chicken meal? We tried the fried chicken (fantastic) and the Moonshine BBQ Pork (loved), and decided to round out our experience by trying the roast chicken.

The roast chicken at Country Kitchen is included on the dining plans, allowing a healthier alternative to the fried chicken meal. The plate includes two sides and biscuit, for which we happen to select green beans and baked beans (since we already paired the other side options with our other meals).

The first thing we noticed when eating the roast chicken is the meal only included one piece of chicken versus the two pieces with the fried chicken meal. We are not sure whether that was an overlook of the staff or if it was supposed to only come with one piece.

Depending on how roast chicken is prepared, it can often be dried out due to the lean nature of chicken. While our roast chicken was not dried out and was moist, it definitely was not as moist as the fried chicken option. The chicken was flavorful and was filling with the ample portion of side dishes and biscuit.

While we did enjoy the roast chicken, we would recommend the fried chicken instead as it was really good.
