2018 was the year of BIG changes throughout Cedar Point, which was anchored by the introduction of Steel Vengeance. We are all very, very fortunate that this big of an investment also carried over throughout Frontier Town.
One of the most interesting transformations for food and beverage was Frontier Foldovers, which replaced Famous Dave’s BBQ Shack. The stand was then rebranded as Gristmill Wild Eats for the 2019 season.
Frontier Foldovers/Gristmill Wild Eats brought something new to the table, by offering flatbread sandwiches.
What is even better is that three of the menu options are included on the Cedar Point dining plan!
We opted to try the Sicilian foldover on a recent visit, which offers ham, pepperoni, salami, red onion, and balsamic vinaigrette.
Guests have the option of fries, a side salad, or fruit cup.
The sandwich is similar to something one would get at Subway, though with a flat bread in lieu of the traditional bread.
We will say it is nice to have something different and lighter available on the dining plan. However, the sandwich lacked much, if any flavor. Fortunately, they have used a different bread/started warming it which makes the sandwich much better than early season runs.
What have you thought of the Frontier Foldovers Sicilian option?
