The day has finally come where California’s Great America officially announces what is happening to their Boomerang Bay water park in 2020. Introducing South Bay Shores which will feature seven new water attractions, new and upgraded food and merchandise stands, new facilities and California coast theme.
South Bay Shores will open three new slide complexes for 2020.
– Shark Reef Plunge
– Feeding Frenzy
– Barracuda
Similar to the Cedar Point Shores Lakeside Lagoon, South Bay Shores will introduce a new Tide Pool with eight kid water slides.
Also available for families is Barefoot Beach.
New facilities to be added/updated for South Bay Shores include “new entrance, new family changing areas, more lounge chairs, additional shade and lush landscaping with native plants. The waterpark’s existing slides and attractions will receive makeovers as well, receiving new names highlighting the coastal theming of South Bay Shores.”
We are also excited to see South Bay Shores introduce some new dining locations for 2020.
Pier 76 Cafe will be similar in style to the Cedar Point Shores Crystal Rock Cafe, but will include air-conditioned indoor seating to enjoy new menu options like fried shrimp and fish tacos, chicken tenders, sliders, and waffle fries. There is also supposed to be a convenient Refresh Station outside for easy drink refills.
South Bay Shores will also introduce a new Sand Bar with special summer concoctions for the adults!
