Does your family or friends travel with you to visit various Cedar Fair parks using your season pass? When traveling to amusement parks, guests often have to book a hotel stay along with their visit.

Often times Cedar Fair season passes come with some benefits that are seldom, if ever, marketed widely by the parks. Today we would like to highlight a 2022 season pass benefit with Choice Privileges.

Choice Hotels is a collection of hotels under various brand names covering the following hotel brands:
– Ascend
– Cambria
– Comfort
– Sleep Inn
– Quality Inn
– Clarion
– Clarion Pointe
– MainStay Suites
– Everhome Suites
– WoodSpring Suites*
– Suburban Extended Stay Hotel
– EconoLodge
– Rodeway Inn

Together with all those brands, the guest should be signed up for their rewards program, Choice Privileges.

Guests earn points for stays at the various locations that go towards status. The Choice Privileges program has 4 status levels as defined below.

– Standard Member
– Gold (10 nights per calendar year)
– Platinum (20 nights per calendar year)
– Diamond (40 nights per calendar year)

This is where the Cedar Fair season pass comes into play.

2022 season passholders can sign into the Choice Hotels/Cedar Fair partner website and get an instant bump in status.

That means for guests just starting out in the Choice Privileges program, you will automatically get bumped to Gold status for the remainder of 2022. Gold gets guests a 10% bonus on points earned, early check in/late check out, and in addition to some other benefits, theme park discounts.

For guests that already currently have Gold status, they get bumped up to Platinum. That gets guests 25% bonus on points earned plus other benefits.

Lastly, for anyone already Platinum, they get promoted to Diamond for 2022. This gets guests a 50% bonus on perks plus all other benefits.

The good news is that say your a standard guest just starting out with the program and you get Gold status for the remainder of 2022. Lets say you do not quite make it to Platinum status by the end of the year but paid for 9 nights. Those nights now rollover into the new year, making it super easy to requalify for Gold status in 2023 with just one more stay. The same thing applies to all the higher tiers.

Choice Hotels group offers over 7,000 properties and just doing a quick search around the Cedar Point area, brings up 8 properties within the immediate area, giving guests a ton of options for cheap nights.
