220608 Carowinds Domino Masters Build

Gabe Dean, a record-setting domino and chain reaction artist, will spend four days and thousands of dominos to build a colorful tribute to Carowinds. Dean, part of a domino-toppling trio, was gunning for a $100,000 cash prize in the new FOX network reality series, “Domino Masters.” The show featured 16 teams of three people each that competed in elimination challenges with different themes each week. Ultimately finishing in the third place, Dean created mind-blowing masterpieces with thousands of tiles.

The Carowinds-themed dominos will feature an estimated 10,000 to 12,000 pieces in a spectrum of colors that range from yellow, lime green, green, teal, orange, red, white, blue, navy, brown, and tan. Carowinds’ wooden coaster Hurler, as well as WindSeeker, SlingShot, and the iconic Fury 325, North America’s longest steel coaster, will be featured in the chain reaction. If time allows, Carolina Cyclone and Ricochet will also be included in the tribute.

“My favorite part of the build is the finale wall with the Carowinds logo,” Dean said. “I love how the logo is elevated and how it ties a nice bow on the overall design. As a big coaster enthusiast and Carowinds Season Passholder, I think that the finale wall will showcase all the amazing things Carowinds has to offer!”

Dean, 21-years-old, will be setting up the dizzying domino display from Monday, June 6 to Thursday, June 9 on the Harmony Hall stage between 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. each day. Guests are welcome to view the epic domino structure while enjoying a meal at Harmony Hall. A live stream is available on the Carowinds’ Facebook page to watch the build process in-park daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The incredibly elaborate domino masterpiece will come tumbling down in beautiful sequential fashion on Friday, June 10, at 11:00 a.m. ET in Harmony Hall.
