As soon as guests walk in the new Cotton Blossom Bar-B-Que restaurant at Worlds of Fun, they will notice the rotisserie cooking dozens of fresh chickens prepared fresh daily.
Located in the Americana section of the park, the Cotton Blossom BBQ restaurant slow roasts their lightly seasoned chickens to seal in the flavors.
We used our World of Fun dining plan to try the new rotisserie chicken, which includes one side and sliced white bread.
The rotisserie chicken was excellently seasoned and very tender with great flavor! The chicken was very similar in taste and texture to the whole fresh rotisserie chickens available at local grocery stores.
A half a chicken makes for a very nice portion of food, and when paired with a side, is an ample serving. We are hopeful that the other meats offered are of equal proportion to be a satisfying meal.
We choose the Brussels sprouts on one visit and the sweet corn as the side on a subsequent visit.
The Brussels sprouts are prepared with butter, bacon and ham along with a chef inspired seasoning.
The ‘sweet corn’ was juicy and had somewhat of a sweet taste. We had expected to receive corn on the cob from early concept photos, but this version was good. There was some flavoring added to the corn that we could not identify that detracted from true sweet corn taste, but it was good.
All pickles are also made in house at Worlds of Fun, which is a nice touch.
The Cotton Blossom BBQ also offers three signature sauces, a Kansas City Original, a Sweet & Mellow, and Spicy.
