Over the past several years, Cedar Fair parks have made a big push to get away from the Tyson pre-made chicken tenders and to start making them in house. As a company as a whole, they have perfected the chicken tenders, which happen to be one of the most popular menu items.
The chicken tenders are made using white breast meat and soaked in buttermilk overnight. Then the chicken is hand tossed in bread crumbs and fried golden brown.
The process of hand crafting the chicken tenders really pays off in flavor and texture!
A meal consists of three chicken tenders that maintain tenderness, especially for chicken breast (white meat). The breading had a nice texture, but was bland in taste; very little salt and pepper had been added to the breading. The chicken tasted fresh and had a good texture, but salt and pepper added to the breading would have made a positive difference in their taste.
The coleslaw was made mostly from purple cabbage with a little carrot and perhaps green cabbage mixed in. The flavor was mild and pleasant, with a proper amount of white cream dressing included.
The Cotton Blossom BBQ also offers three signature sauces, a Kansas City Original, a Sweet & Mellow, and Spicy, which make for great dipping of the chicken.
