The new Kings Island Coney Bar-B-Que is quite the upgrade in food at Kings Island. Not only do guests get to see rotisserie chickens being slowly roasted, but the park is now slow smoking their meats overnight right on the Coney Mall.
The overwhelming response has been tremendously popular for Coney Bar-B-Que, and with good reason. The hard work has paid off with incredibly tender meats and homemade sides, plus Kings Island dining plan members can eat here.
One of our family’s favorite meals that is very kid friendly is barbecue pulled pork.
Kings Island slow smokes their pork butts overnight, typically around 12 hours and freshly shreds them each day. The tender meat is then piled high onto a brioche bun and served with choice of side and a hush puppy.
The brioche bun is an excellent choice in bread for this hearty sandwich, helping hold it all together and soak up the juices from the meat, as well as the barbecue sauces available at the dispensary outside.
While our kids like this meal the old fashioned way, we prefer to mix it up and do a secret menu item.
Start with a heaping serving of the sidewinder fries. Top with pulled pork. Drizzle with regular and Carolina gold BBQ sauces. This is the real deal!
Every bite of seasoned fries should include a nice scoops of tender pulled pork and when paired with the various sauces, is a powerhouse of flavor. We absolutely love this creation! (It is really just the pulled pork with a side of fries, but we change it up for an even better concoction.)
The same pulled pork recipe is also available over at the Island Smokehouse inside Soak City.
