During the 2018 season passholder preview (hoedown) events on April 30, May 1, and 2, guests were able to sample Cedar Point’s new signature ice cream, Brownie Bandit, in collaboration with Toft’s Dairy.
The ice cream pays homage to the new Steel Vengeance roller coaster and features brownie batter variegate twisting through brownie batter ice cream loaded with homemade brownies!
The ice cream on its own is absolutely amazing!
As part of the passholder hoedown event, Cedar Point offered the ice cream with crumbled bacon, which was said to be the new featured milkshake at the Coca-Cola Fountain & Floats stand in Frontier Town.
Sadly, the bacon at the preview event wasn’t cooked long enough to be crispy, and as a result, did not go well together with the ice cream.
Due to a shortage in staffing, the Coca-Cola Fountain & Floats stand did not open until well into June to try and purchase one of the signature milkshakes.
To our surprise, the milkshake is offered. However, it is no longer served with bacon. Either there were budget cuts to the menu or someone realized the bacon needed to be prepared better and they did not have the capabilities to do so.
While the milkshake is good due to the fantastic ice cream, it is discouraging to see another menu item show some promise by being different, yet not implemented.
