In 2018, Carowinds introduced at Harmony Hall the meatball boule. A bread bowl was served with a heaping scoop of made in house meatballs, covered in marinara sauce and sprinkled with mozzarella cheese.
The boule was a great take on the traditional meatball sub and one we enjoyed. It was also suitable for sharing.
For 2019, the meatball boule has been replaced with a traditional meatball sub with a side of giardiniera (Italian pickled vegetables).
The approximate 8″ sub is served with four meatballs, covered in tomato sauce and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese.
What we really enjoyed about the Carowinds meatball sub is the roll itself, served buttered and toasted, similar to garlic bread. This change really provides for some great added flavor to an already good meal.
