One of the bigger dining plan changes for 2015 was the introduction of Hank’s Burrito Shack. The dining location added a custom Mexican style option for guests from burritos to tacos. Guests were able to choose their meat, veggies, salsas, and toppings to create their own dishes…and we loved them! (Reference: Review Hank’s Burrito Shack)
While we thought Hank’s was a really great option, especially for those with the Kings Island Dining Plans, it will be undergoing a change for 2017.
In the past, the meats were ground beef, shredded pork and beef. For 2017, Hank’s will get an upgrade in name to Hank’s Mexican Grill. In addition, all of the proteins will receive substantial upgrades featuring grilled chicken and other higher end meat items.
This will be great news for the “Chipotle” fans who come to expect higher end Mexican cuisine. We will be excited to see what the new Hank’s offers for this season and will offer a new review soon.

Sadly chips are longer included with an entree on the dining plan nor can you get water at the drink dispensers. We tried the Barbados and it was quite tasty albeit a bit spicy. They couldn’t keep up with the demand for chicken with freshly grilling it but hopefully as the season gets underway that will get better.
That was supposed to say barbacoa lol. Gotta love auto correct!
It is unfortunate the chips are not included this year and that guacamole is now an up charge. This is not an upgrade to the dining plan if you are receiving less. Hopefully Kings Island will change their mind and include the chips back in with the dining plan.
