It used to be that the only place you could get the iconic pineapple flavored Dole Whip was by visiting the Dole Plantation in Hawaii or a trip to a Disney park, where it was first introduced. However, today Dole soft serve is becoming even more readily available at places like your local mom and pops ice cream stand and even other amusement parks. So when we learned last year that Kings Dominion had converted some of their food stands to now sell Dole Whip, we were beyond excited!
Before we begin, lets just clarify that according to the official Dole website, Dole Whip and Dole soft serve are the same product, and their names can be used interchangeably.
Dole Whip is everything your typical ice cream is not; dairy free, fat free, gluten free, lactose free, cholesterol free, and only 90 calories per serving, making it a suitable treat for a large variety of dietary restrictions.
In order to get your dosage of Kings Dominion Dole Whip soft serve, you will need to head over to the Candy Apple Grove section of the park and find one of the Island Twist stands. There you will be given a choice of how you would like your Dole Whip prepared.
You can go the simplified version and get either pineapple or strawberry soft serve in a dish or cone. Or you can go for the king of treats, the Holy Grail of frozen concoctions, the Dole Whip Float, which takes the famous soft serve and floats it in a cup of fresh pineapple juice. AHHHHH, hear that? It is the sound of the angels singing their praises!
Get yours this summer and discover the magic that is created on the Kings Dominion Candy Apple Grove!
