Traditionally the weekend prior to Cedar Point’s annual HalloWeekends is one of the sweet spots of the year to attend the park. With kids back in school, and summer vacations coming to an end, crowds tend to be lower than normal before they ramp up quickly with the fall crowd.
To help encourage visits during the bonus weekend, Cedar Point is introducing a new limited time event, Happy Friar’s Fresh-Cut Fries Fest.
Running September 9, 10, and 11, the park celebrates the famous potatoes that were first introduced by Berardi family in 1942.
Cedar Point operates two fresh cut fry stands currently, both of which will offer special fresh cut fry menus during the event.
Hot Potato (main midway)
Bento Fries (Fresh-cut fries with surimi, wasabi aioli, yum yum sauce, green onions and black sesame seeds.)- $13.99
French Dip Fries (Fresh-cut fries with Philly meat, caramelized onions, beef au jus, mozzarella and provolone shredded cheeses and bistro sauce.)- $13.99
Happy Friar (near Gemini)
Birria Fries (Fresh-cut fries with shredded beef brisket, chihuahua cheese, birria oil, sliced red fresno chilies, cilantro and diced red onion.)- $13.99
Thai Fries (Fresh-cut fries with peanut sauce, crushed peanuts, sliced red fresno chilies, cilantro and lime wedge.)- $13.99
For guests looking to really celebrate the almighty potato, Cedar Point is offering the Mt. Spudsmore.
Three pounds of fresh cut fries served in three different flavors plus original for $49.99. The bottom of the pile is served with:
– Cajun Fries with cherry pepper and pineapple jam
– Garlic Parmesan Fries with lemon aioli
– Dried Mushroom & Truffle Fries with basil pesto
The entire pile is then topped with original fresh cut fries. Thank you potato gods!
