Kings Dominion is revitalizing Soak City in 2020, by adding the brand new Coconut Shores area. The area will feature two new family interactive water areas, and a new dining experience.
Lighthouse Landing
A 45-ft tall multi-level aqua play structure featuring hundreds of interactive elements.
Sand Dune Lagoon
A 24″ deep mini-wave pool with 1′ tall waves for kids. The lagoon will also feature floating sea life creatures to play on.
Beach Street
Also, newly announced is the addition of Beach Street, a new food truck style dining experience that will add a wide array of new menu options for guests.
Speaking with Maggie Sellers, Communications Manager at Kings Dominion, “the addition of Coconut Shores in Soak City will bring another incredible and all-new dining experience to our guests. At Beach Street, guests can visit three uniquely themed food trucks: Paradise Pizza serving gourmet flatbread pizzas, The Captain’s Catch serving pub fare, and Beachside Bowls featuring rice and noodle bowls with an Asian flair. A fourth truck, The Sand Bar, will serve refreshing adult beverages and craft beer for guests 21 and older.”
The food trucks will also be featured on the Kings Dominion dining plan!
Soak City and the new Coconut Shores area will open at Kings Dominion May 23, 2020.
Kings Dominion opens for the 2020 season on March 28, with a special passholder preview on March 22. When the park opens, following the announcement for the removal of The Crypt adjacent to the now removed Volcano, Blast Coaster (Coaster101.com), guests will surely be scouring the area looking for clues about what new could be coming to the park. The latest clue indicates, “Things are lurking in the jungle.”
This is following the “Expeditions on the Horizon” sign that was discovered back in April 2019.

It should be really FUN to see what develops in this area of the park.
In addition, guests will find a new Grain & Grill dining concept, featuring locally sourced products at the International Street restaurant.
