It is that time of year again when it feels like Christmas morning opening up news about the latest and greatest coming to Cedar Fair parks for the 2019 season. With that comes the inevitable release of details on the 2019 season pass program.
New for this year, some season pass programs will see some tweaks to the implementation.
However, before we get into some of the benefits, lets dive into the 2019 season pass pricing.
New Platinum Pass- $195
Renewal Platinum Pass- $190
New Jr/Sr Platinum Pass- $168
Renewal Jr/Sr Platinum Pass- $168
This is the same price at all Cedar Fair parks. Yes, you could go up to Canada’s Wonderland and buy your season pass and save some money based on the exchange rate, since the price listed would be in Canadian dollars. (Using today’s exchange ratio, $195 CAD = $148 US). However, keep in mind your renewal or new purchase benefits (see below) would then pertain to Canada’s Wonderland and not your associated home park.
Pro Tip: Also make sure if you are buying Canada’s Wonderland season passes that you use a credit card with no foreign transaction fees, as that can add to your cost, especially if using the payment plan.
New Passholders: Receive unlimited 2018 visits at California’s Great America, Canada’s Wonderland, Carowinds, Dorney Park, Kings Dominion, Kings Island, Valleyfair and Worlds of Fun. This is a major benefit as previously guests only received one visit in the current year.
However, Cedar Point, Knott’s Berry Farm, and Michigan’s Adventure each only allow a single visit in 2018 with your 2019 season pass purchase. Additional visits in 2018 are $14.99 each.
All Cedar Fair parks (except Knott’s Berry Farm) are also having a major push to get you to buy a new season pass now, offering one free 2018 Fast Lane Plus if you buy between August 16 – 19, 2018. Pay attention to when you can use the Fast Lane Plus wristbands with this offer, as there could be blackout dates.
Renewing season Passholders receive one free Fast Lane Plus (all parks but Knott’s Berry Farm) and one free Bring-A-Friend ticket good for the 2018 season. Again pay attention at blackout dates.
Lower level (Silver, Gold, Regular, etc.) season passes vary per park on price and benefits.
The big change you will see for 2019 season passes is the payment plan. Previously, they were divided up over 9 payments. This year, all parks except Cedar Point, Dorney Park, Michigan’s Adventure & Valleyfair will offer 12 month payment plans as we broke back in early July. Cedar Point, Dorney Park, Michigan’s Adventure & Valleyfair will offer the traditional 9 month payment plans.

There is a season pass locker add-on for Kings Dominion season passes as well.
Thanks! Updated list.
If I turn 62 in March before the season begins and buy my pass now for 2019 do I get the senior discount?
That shouldn’t be a problem. Have a great season of visits and eats!
How about a nationwide Fast Lane Plus for $500? I’d pay it.
KIngs Island website is showing a big price increase on All Season Dining Plans, will CP be raising their price as well? Should we buy now??
If the price increase has not been implemented yet at your park, it is coming. We recommend buying ASAP, as all the parks will be synced up in pricing very shortly.
So all of the parks are raising the platinum pass dining plan from $117 to $142 ??? That’s ALOT!!
Yes, typically Platinum pricing is across the board. So it’s odd that only some of the parks saw this price increase, and we suspect by tomorrow, or sometime this week, they all should be aligned.
So looks like the dining plans have gone up everywhere….sigh. Wish they would have let us know that there was a price increasing coming.
Question — so the post above says you can buy the platinum passes / dining plans on the Canada’s Wonderland site and pay in Canadian money….has anyone actually done this? Also, if my first visit of the year is to a park other than Canada’s Wonderland am I going to run into any issues with redeeming the pass?
Thanks!
Ted: The parks mentioned on their social channels that prices were going up. We also alerted people on our social channels that the prices were being increased on dining plans.
As for your second question, we have with success. We have also received accounts of other guests doing the same and then redeeming them at another Cedar Fair park with no issues.
Thanks for the confirmation!
We do this every year with no problem. The post above is deceptive though. If you save 25% (conversion rate) on the purchase price of the pass you have to subtract the higher sales tax. Long story short, expect about 12% savings and you must pay all the sales tax up front. We have a large family of 8 and we spend over $3,000 annually so it’s worth it for us. We don’t care about the free Fastpass and we do visit Wonderland at least once a year.
