By now, we all come to expect unique and great in-house menu items when visiting Carowinds during their fall SCarowinds festivities. Luckily, Carowinds has added some really great new Haunt options, with many being available on the Carowinds dining plan.

Monster Mash Muffuletta Sandwich

Have you tried a New Orleans original Muffuletta sandwich? Carowinds is offering their own unique take on this creole sandwich by taking an Italian sub roll and adding layers of shaved ham, pepperoni, salami, and turkey with slices of provolone cheese. Then, a special blend of peppers marinated in an Italian vinaigrette is drizzled on top.

We are REALLY excited about this twist to the original given the reason we did not like a real muffuletta sandwich was because of the traditional olive blend on top. The peppers are a nice universally accepted change.

The Monster Mash Muffuletta Sandwich is available on the dining plan from the cold coolers at Papa Luigi’s.

BBQ Worm Burger

We love the creativity of this haunt style sandwich! Available at the new Camp Cookout, Carowinds takes sliced barbecue hotdogs and piles them in a hamburger bun, simulating worms. Great execution! The BBQ Worm sandwich is also available on the dining plan.

Haunt Finger Sandwich

The Haunt Finger Sandwich has been a staple of SCarowinds for a number of years. Available on the dining plan at Harmony Hall, this sandwich has become a fan favorite. Hand breaded chicken tenders are paired with mozzarella sticks and covered in fresh blood (marinara sauce). Simple, yet effective to get the spooky feelings pumping.

Walk the Plank Grilled Meatloaf

When you think poutine, you think of the classic Canadian dish of fries topped with brown gravy and cheese curds. That is exactly why we LOVE Carowinds for taking a chance by creating their own signature SCarowinds poutine.

Take a thick cut slice of grilled meatloaf and places it on top of the poutine. The meal is very creative and filling! Get one at Wings restaurant.

Candy Corn Nutella Quesadilla

We suppose now would be a good time to move onto dessert! Take a look at this rather interesting concoction. The Candy Corn Nutella Quesadilla is available at Harmony Hall. While the initial thought of taking a flour tortilla and filling it with Nutella and butterscotch chips, then grilling and drizzling it with chocolate and raspberry sauce and topped with candy corns is confusing, the flavors actually go together rather well.

While we like the daring play on flavors, judging from initial fan reaction, we are not sure this one will hold its own this season. Like almost everything at Harmony Hall, the Candy Corn Nutella Quesadilla is available on the dining plan.

Cinnamon Apple Funnel Cake

Where the candy corn Nutella quesadilla aims for the daring, the classic Cinnamon Apple Funnel Cake is the perfect fall ending to the day. Cinnamon sugar coats the funnel cake, which is then topped with cinnamon baked apples and whipped cream. Ahhhhhhhhh, let the leaves fall down on me! Delicious!

Which SCarowinds haunt meals and/or treats will you be trying this season?
