By the end of May, we hope to have every menu, from every Cedar Fair park listed and updated on the website (this is of course dependent on all the food locations being opened and staffed). To process the astronomical amount of information takes a massive amount of help from our contributors, where we now have someone at every single Cedar Fair property from California to Canada. Once all that information gets updated, you will continue to see detailed food reviews, announcements on new menu items, and attendance to special events. It takes a lot of work, and we could not do it alone.
Website Commenting Initiative
Sharing our stories to social media plays an important role in the discussion process. A post gets immediate feedback which is great; however, as social feeds get filled with other content, reviews quickly get lost.
However, on websites, the content can be easily obtained. For example, if we post a review of say, the crab cakes at Cedar Point, your comments on whether it is good or bad can play a great role in giving feedback to the community. Plus everyone can easily find the information.
So as our first initiative, we want to see more comments on the website. Did you try a menu item you enjoyed? Did the park change the flavor of your favorite dish and you would like to give feedback? Did you attend a special event like Boysenberry Festival or Brew & BBQ? Leave us a comment on the website about your experience.
As you look through our Cedar Fair park food guides, if you have feedback, please leave a constructive comment. When submitting a comment, please leave enough detail highlighting your experience. Comments like “good” or “bad” do not provide enough detail to warrant constructive feedback.
If you tried a menu item in May, left a comment, and then tried it again in June, leave another updated comment.
On the last day of each month, we will draw a name from all the comments submitted on the CPFoodBlog website. The winner of the month will receive $25 in cash payable via Paypal. The more comments you enter, the greater your chances of winning. Please leave your valid email address so we can contact you should you win.
If you need some help on where to look, use our Start Here Guide to help you look up information on the park(s) you are visiting. If we do not have a food review of a specific menu item, see the second initiative below, where we could use your photo and review to get one posted.
Photo and News Initiative
Want a chance to win another $25 in cash?
The second initiative where we need your help is as the eyes and ears of what is happening in the parks. Sure we have someone helping us at each park, but even we can not see and hear everything. There are only so many meals we can eat in a weekend. Or maybe you saw a new clue pop up for a new roller coaster coming to your park.
Did you see a new menu item we have not seen or reviewed? Send us a picture. Did a park add something new, like signage for a ride? Send us a picture. Did you try something new on the menu? Send us a picture. Did a policy change, like locker rental policies? Send us a picture. Did you capture a great photo of your favorite roller coaster? Send us a picture. Get the point?
Often we will post something along the lines of, “did you see this new _______?” and someone will come back and say we saw that last week. Here is your chance to play a greater role in the community.
So if you eat something in the parks, take a picture before eating it and send it to us. Even if we have already reviewed the menu item, we could still use updated photos to compare portion size, etc. If we like your photo, we might even share it on the website or social media (with full copyright and credit to you)!
Photos should be sent to us via email, CPFoodBlog Facebook Messenger or Private message on Twitter.
On the last day of each month, we will review all photo submissions. A winner will be randomly selected each month to win $25 in cash payable via Paypal.
Everyone is eligible, including the contributors we have at each park!
Please follow all park rules. No on-ride photos. No going into non-public areas. Try and minimize other people in the photos. If taking pictures of food, no fingers, try holding it up with an interesting background and find good lighting. Let us know what you see in the parks and you could be walking away with $25 in cash!
These initiatives are subject to review, modification and/or removal at any time.
