After such a rocky 2020, Cedar Fair saw the start of a return to normal for much of the 2021 season. Knott’s Berry Farm got a late start to their daily operation, after not opening until May 6 for passholders. With the exception of Canada’s Wonderland, all the other parks had fairly typical seasons this year. Demand for entertainment, and in particular amusement parks has been accelerated after most people were cooped up for the better part of a year due to Covid related issues.
So looking back, we tapped into the analytics to see what were some of the most popular news stories for 2021.
10) 2021 Season Passholder Pass Perks™ Loyalty Reward
Will the Pass Perks be offered again in 2022? Quite frankly the program deserves the Turkey Award, as it is uninspiring and anything but loyal.
9) 2022 Valleyfair Park Improvements Including Rehab of Coasters
Valleyfair will undergo some improvements to their dining experiences including remodeling Coaster’s Drive-In and a new bar.
8) 2021 Kings Island Dining Plan Menu
The dining plan item list continues to be a big interest as guests want to plan out their day(s) on the best places to eat and what might be new on the menu.
7) 2021 Cedar Point Frontier Festival
After years of attempting a big food festival, dating back to the Brew & BBQ in 2015, the Frontier Festival has grown into the premier event. For 2021, we saw the theme tied into the cherry. While an odd choice for a common denominator given the cherry does not have big roots in Ohio, the majority of the menu items were quite great. In particular, the fried ribs and cherry rubbed pork tacos were favorites. The theme will once again be the cherry in 2022, and it appears many of the same menu items will be back in Frontier Town.
6) 13 Things To Never Do At Cedar Point
Did you know guests love when you get out of line and then proceed to cut in front of them to join back with your party? We were quite surprised to see this old article jump to the top of the list in 2021.
5) Former Site of Cedar Point Picnic Pavilion
Cedar Point quietly removed some of their old picnic pavilions for the 2021 season, and as we predicted, the Zombie High School haunted house did not return for HalloWeekends. This will be an interesting area of the park to watch in the coming couple of seasons.
4) 2021 Cedar Point HalloWeekends & Kings Island Haunt Food & Beverage Lineup
Cedar Point and Kings Island both combined their Haunt menu items for the 2021 season, offering tasting cards to try them. After taking part in special food events at every Cedar Fair park dating back to 2015, this was the first time we opted to pass because the price point was simply too high to warrant the investment.
3) New Changes to Cedar Point Fast Lane Program 2021
With Top Thrill Dragster being down for 2021, changes were made to the Cedar Point Fast Lane program to add in another coaster for Fast Lane Plus guests.
2) 2022 Cedar Fair Season Pass News
The cheapest time of year to buy a season pass is always in August when they first go on sale. Our round-up of prices from across the Cedar Fair chain helps guests make a choice at the best pass option for their family and friends.
1) 2021 Cedar Point Dining Plan Menus
You look like a shrimp on a stick kind of gal. The predominant list everyone wants to see is from the mega-resort on the shores of Lake Erie. As we are notified of changes in the park(s), the dining plan lists are modified accordingly.
Summary
After an expected decline in traffic for 2020, we are happy to report that 2021 saw rebounds of double what they were in 2019. Honestly, even we were surprised by your patronage. So thank you! We appreciate you taking the time out of your day to visit the website with news from across the Cedar Fair chain and look forward to serving your needs into 2022.
The future of entertainment at Cedar Fair parks is going to be quite interesting in the next year or two, as the company tries to reign in costs by making many of the company positions corporate and less of the local beat. Many positions have been eliminated and/or consolidated into the corporate offices in Charlotte, North Carolina. The good news is that the parks, and in particular Cedar Point, have hired on a ton of new local talent into the culinary department. This opens up the doors for the food scene to continue to be a primary focus of entertaining at Cedar Fair parks into the future.

Great list, CP Food Blog. Under the circumstances, the park did their best to hire, open up as many rides and food stands as possible, and improve the lines at the entrance gate. Next years extra lanes on the entrance should be interesting. Thank you for your articles. See you at Winter Chillout!
