George from Imaginerding is planning on visiting Cedar Point for the first time this summer and writes in with a great question.

I’m going to be making my first trip to Cedar Point in June (and my first trip in more than 30 years to Kings Island).

It’s only one day per park…any suggestions for how to tackle all of the coasters at CP?

As our minds began gathering information for a response, we decided to reach out to our very active CPFoodBlog Facebook community and get their suggestions.

We also remembered our article Top 9 Cedar Point Attractions For First Timers though that article takes a more well rounded approach of someone looking to take in the top coasters but also mix it up with a variety of flat rides, shows, etc. To specifically try and conquer all of Cedar Point’s roller coasters in one day will take a bit more planning.

CPFansite also has a list of ideas put together to help Outsmart the Crowds.

For this scenario, we are going to assume someone is not interested in purchasing Fast Lane passes on the day of their visit.

The day of the week and time of year also vary greatly in how dense the crowds are during your visit. For our question from George, he happens to be visiting on our of our favorite days, Sunday, when the crowds can be substantially lower earlier in the season.

So how should George set about conquering all of the Cedar Point roller coasters in one day?

Assuming he can get in early with a season pass or is staying on property at a Cedar Point hotel, he should take advantage of early entry into the park.

As soon as he gets in the gates, head straight for Maverick followed by Millennium Force. Right there you can save hours off your day, giving you a nice jump start on the day.

From there, plan on trying to get in line for Top Thrill Dragster (TTD) as soon as they open. If you can manage to get TTD and Maverick out of the way early enough in the day, you can save yourself the hassle of either ride going down for maintenance, which happens often.

From TTD, it would be a good idea to head over to Valravn, Raptor, and Blue Streak. Depending on crowds, that might bring you up to lunch time.

Head across the midway and ride GateKeeper and Wicked Twister.

Then head to the center of the park and knock out Cork Screw, Rougarou, and Iron Dragon.

Now it is time to head back towards the back of the park. On the way you can ride Magnum, Gemini, and Pipe Scream before heading towards Camp Snoopy for Wilderness Run and Woodstock Express.

The end is now in sight, with a trip to the far rear of the park and getting rides in on the Mine Ride and Mean Streak.

Did you get it all in before the end of the day? Then try out some of the variety of flat rides, take a stroll through Frontier Town and maybe even catch a show.

Getting all of Cedar Point’s roller coasters rode within one day can be quite the feat, but totally doable depending on the day of your visit.

If visiting on a summer Saturday, lines can be substantially longer and Fast Lane may be recommended if time is of the essence.
