Reader Rich (@HailYost73) asked on Twitter, “Is the single meal deal worth it for Pink’s?”
The single meal deal at Cedar Point costs $13.99 ($15.00 with tax) and gives you the option of the following meals:
– Specialty Dog Combo (Long Island, Chicago, Bacon Chili, or Chili & Cheese hot dog and fries)
– Bacon Chili Cheeseburger Combo (bacon chili cheeseburger and fries)
Single Meal Deal also includes a 20 oz fountain drink.
By comparison, below is a breakdown of the costs when purchased separately.
Long Island ($7.79)
Chicago Polish Dog ($7.99)
Bacon Chili Cheese Dog ($7.29)
Chili Cheese Dog ($6.59)
Bacon Chili Cheeseburger ($8.59)
French Fries ($4.99)
Soft Drinks ($3.99)
Therefore, your total out-of-pocket cost when purchasing separately is:
Long Island, Fries, & Soft Drink ($16.77 + tax)
Chicago Polish Dog, Fries, & Soft Drink ($16.97 + tax)
Bacon Chili Cheese Dog, Fries, & Soft Drink ($16.27 + tax)
Chili Cheese Dog, Fries, & Soft Drink ($15.57 + tax)
Bacon Chili Cheeseburger, Fries, & Soft Drink ($17.57 + tax)
So, “Is the single meal deal worth it for Pink’s?”
Yes, it is cheaper to purchase the single meal deal instead of purchasing the food options individually. However, purchasing the single meal deal is only more valuable IF you do not have the refillable mug. Assuming you have already factored in the cost of the refillable mug into your budget or previously purchased it. If you refill the mug for $0.99, as opposed to purchasing a 20 oz soft drink from Pink’s, then you are better off purchasing the hot dog/burger and fries individually.
