We are delighted that in the last couple of years, Cedar Fair parks have started to embrace the vegetarian and vegan lifestyle by offering a variety of menu options for guests. Kings Island has really started to up their game by continuing to bring new menu options to the table.

The Coney Bar-B-Que restaurant opened at Kings Island in 2018 and the defining dining location within the area. While the feature of the restaurant is of course a variety of meats, it made it difficult for those that do not eat animal protein to find an alternative in the area.

So imagine our surprise, when for the 2020 season, Coney Bar-B-Que is now offering a vegan smoked sausage.

If you have not tried the latest vegan sausages that have come to market, you are really missing out. We in particular are BIG fans of Beyond Sausage products, and it was one of the reasons it was our main go-to dining plan meal at Cedar Point’s Gristmill Wild Eats in 2018 and 2019. No lie, it probably made up 50% of our dining plan meals.

Kings Island is offering the Beyond Sausage brand at Coney Bar-B-Que. The typical dining option at this restaurant is one entree + one side from a large variety of options.

Amy F. recently tried the vegan smoked sausage and offered this feedback.

“Super excited to find an option for vegetarians and vegans on meal plan at Coney BBQ! The vegan sausage paired with any of their BBQ sauces and a side is very filling. While we chose mac and cheese (not vegan), they have several side options that could make a vegan meal. At first it did look like the sausage might be dry, but it was not.”
