When it comes to barbecue, one of our favorite menu items is the smoked brisket. Once difficult to master, smokers today can make tender options that when paired with custom spice rubs, pack a killer flavor.
So you never know what you are going to get when it comes to amusement park version of smoked brisket. Could it be overcooked and dry? Not very tender? All are a possibility with many factors going into what you get on your particular visit.
Cedar Point added their own in-park smoker for the 2018 in Miss Keat’s Smokehouse located in Frontier Town.
We were really happy to see the brisket carved in front of us, where two large slices were put on our plate. We also added the optional BBQ sauce which added a lot of additional flavor. **Update: Since trying the brisket earlier in the season, the portion of brisket has been reduced from 5 ounces to 3.5-4 ounces.
Again, the choice of side options is excellent at Miss Keat’s and we elected to go with beans on this particular meal. Each meal also includes a moist cornbread muffin. *Update: We also noticed that the side dishes have improved, with the beans having more flavor. In addition, a nice fresh fruit salad is offered.
While we understand every cut of brisket can be different, we happen to get a really excellent cut that was very tender and the rub on the ends was pretty good as well.
Beans were a standard option with no special flavoring, but still nice to have as a BBQ option.
Let us know below in the comments what you thought of the brisket.
