Review: Canada’s Wonderland Backlot Cafe Bombay Butter Chicken

<p><a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;cpfoodblog&period;com&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2016&sol;06&sol;160625-Canadas-Wonderland-Backlot-Cafe-Bombay-Butter-Chicken&period;jpg"><img src&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;cpfoodblog&period;com&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2016&sol;06&sol;160625-Canadas-Wonderland-Backlot-Cafe-Bombay-Butter-Chicken&period;jpg" alt&equals;"160625 Canada&&num;039&semi;s Wonderland Backlot Cafe Bombay Butter Chicken" width&equals;"1155" height&equals;"768" class&equals;"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8880" &sol;><&sol;a><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><P><P>We have always been impressed with the available food offerings at Canada&&num;8217&semi;s Wonderland&period; Several unique menu items can only be found at this park&comma; and when paired with a large variety of rides&comma; shows&comma; and attractions&comma; make for a perfect day of FUN&period; During our recent return trip to Canada&&num;8217&semi;s Wonderland&comma; we saw some major transformations in the food scene throughout the park&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>When guests visit Carowinds&comma; many will tell you one of their favorite places to eat is at <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;cpfoodblog&period;com&sol;carowinds-dining-guide&sol;carowinds-harmony-hall&sol;">Harmony Hall<&sol;a>&period; Chef Kris Siuta has hand crafted a really impressive lineup of menu items&comma; all made fresh&comma; with the majority of the options available on the dining plans&period; <&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>So during our visit to Canada&&num;8217&semi;s Wonderland&comma; we were excited to see that <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;cpfoodblog&period;com&sol;park-food-guides&sol;canadas-wonderland-food&sol;backlot-cafe&sol;">Backlot Cafe<&sol;a> has sorta become the Harmony Hall of the north&comma; offering a really impressive lineup of menu items thanks to Executive Chef Dilup Attygalla&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Guests have the option to chose from Mexican&comma; American&comma; Italian&comma; Asian&comma; and Indian meal options at Backlot Cafe&comma; offering an impressive list of food unique to the park&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>We were most excited to try some of the Indian options&comma; a personal favorite ethnic food of ours&period; Since we were redeeming the All-Season dining plan&comma; we selected the Bombay butter chicken with rice&comma; papadum&comma; raita&comma; and chutney option&period; <&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Papadum is a thin&comma; crisp&comma; disc-shaped food typically based on a seasoned dough usually made from peeled black gram flour&comma; fried or cooked with dry heat&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Our meal was served with an ample portion of butter chicken&comma; papadum&comma; naan&comma; rice&comma; and raita&period; On a subsequent visit&comma; they were out of papadum and gave us two naan instead&period; <&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The first thing you should notice is the large chunks of chicken&period; The portion size was ample and impressive&period; The Indian spices and flavors were fantastic and was a really good meal&period; The naan was perfectly prepared&comma; and the papadum was really good too&comma; given we had never tried it before&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>For those that have never tried Indian food&comma; butter chicken is a great entry meal option to try it&period; We think you will be impressed with the simple but flavorful tastes&period; Butter chicken is also not very spicy for those looking to minimize the heat&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>We loved Chef Attygalla take on butter chicken so much that we had it twice&period; Our kids are pretty adventuresome eaters in general&comma; and also LOVED the butter chicken&period; They enjoyed taking the naan and adding the rice&comma; chicken and raita to create their own &&num;8220&semi;tacos&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<h2>Summary<&sol;h2>&NewLine;<p>We really enjoyed the Canada&&num;8217&semi;s Wonderland butter chicken as it was very flavorful and was a large enough meal you could share if desired&period; <&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>&ast; If you liked this post&comma; join other readers who have signed up to for our <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;cpfoodblog&period;com&sol;newsletter&sol;">free Newsletter<&sol;a>&&num;8230&semi;because then you will never miss another update&excl;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;
