<p>As we approach the end of 2019, it is interesting to reflect on the past. While the <a href="https://cpfoodblog.com/about/our-story/">birth of the CPFoodBlog</a> only goes back to 2013, of course Cedar Fair and associated parks have been around much longer. </p>
<p>Over just the course of our association, we have seen so many things change, especially considering when we started this journey, dining plans were not even implemented yet. </p>
<p>So as we close out 2019, lets take a look back at some highlights over the past decade.</p>
<h2>California&#8217;s Great America</h2>
<p>2010- Nickelodeon Central rethemed to Planet Snoopy; <a href="http://cpfoodblog.com/park-food-guides/californias-great-america-food/californias-great-america-panda-express/">Panda Express</a> added. Removed Invertigo and moved to Dorney Park<br />
2011- Cedar Fair attempted to sell park<br />
2012- The Grizzly is retracked. Carousel Columbia, Demon and Flight Deck repainted. Fast Lane introduced.<br />
2013- Added Gold Striker roller coaster. <a href="http://cpfoodblog.com/park-food-guides/californias-great-america-food/californias-great-america-subway/">Subway</a> added.<br />
2014- Planet Snoopy Construction Zone rethemed to Peanuts. General park improvements including repainted Flight Deck to red and white paint scheme.<br />
2015- Planet Snoopy expands into KidZville. Added GR8 SK8 and Peanuts 500 to Planet Snoopy (relocated from Knott&#8217;s Berry Farm); added Snoopy&#8217;s Space Buggies<br />
2016- Added Mass Effect: New Earth interactive show. Firefall (HUSS Top Spin) removed. Winterfest debuted.<br />
2017- Converted Vortex (stand-up) to Patriot (floorless). Removed H.M.B. Endeavor (Intamin Looping Starship), Snoopy&#8217;s Splash Dance, Logger&#8217;s Run<br />
2018- Added RailBlazer roller coaster<br />

2017- Added Souring Timbers; Splash Works added Muskoka Plunge.<br />

Chick-fil-A moves into the former Country Kitchen building. <a href="http://cpfoodblog.com/carowinds-dining-guide/carowinds-auntie-annes/">Auntie Anne&#8217;s</a> replaces Plaza Funnel Cake. The former Chick-fil-A is renovated into <a href="http://cpfoodblog.com/carowinds-dining-guide/carowinds-funnel-cake-emporium/">Funnel Cake Emporium</a>. Two new slides added to Boomerang Bay: Surfer&#8217;s Swell and Dorsal Fin Drop.<br />
2015- Fury 325 roller coaster debuted. SlingShot added. Thunder Road roller coaster removed.<br />
2016- Boomerang Bay water park expanded and rebranded to Carolina Harbor. Plants vs Zombies debuts in Action Theater. Southern Sidewinder and Whitewater Falls are removed. <a href="http://cpfoodblog.com/carowinds-dining-guide/carowinds-papa-luigis-pizza/">Papa Luigi&#8217;s</a> remodeled.<br />
2017- County Fair themed area gets 4 new rides: Electro-Spin (a mondial top scan), Zephyr (Zierer Wave Swinger), Rock N Roller (Mack Rides Music Express), and Do-Si-Do (HUSS Troika). Carolina Cobra roller coaster rethemed to The Flying Cobras. Winterfest debuts.<br />
2018- Planet Snoopy converted to Camp Snoopy. Planet Snoopy carousel relocated to new Carousel Park area of the park.<br />
2019- Copperhead Striker roller coaster debuted along with new Blue Ridge Junction themed area. SpringHill Suites at Carowinds scheduled to open. Dinosaurs Alive! closes. <a href="https://cpfoodblog.com/new-details-on-springhill-suites-charlotte-at-carowinds-hotel/">SpringHill Suites</a> opens.</p>

2012- Stinger roller coaster received from California&#8217;s Great America (and later removed in 2018). Dinosaurs Alive! and Fast Lane debuted.<br />

2014- Snake Pit water slide complex added to Wildwater Kingdom<br />
2015- Cedar Creek Flyers<br />
2016- ThunderHawk receives new trains, paint, lighting and track overhaul.<br />
2017- Dodgem and Kaleidoscope rides debuted. <a href="https://cpfoodblog.com/park-food-guides/dorney-park-dining-guide/papa-luigis/">Papa Luigi&#8217;s</a> opened in Wildwater Kingdom.<br />
2018- Tidal Wave Cafe opens in Wildwater Kingdom. ThunderHawk receives new portions of track.<br />
2019- Grand Carnivale debuted. Monster Jam Thunder Alley closed out the end of the season.</p>

2011- Snoopy’s Starlight Spectacular, a nighttime walk-through premiers June-August.<br />
2012- WindSeeker installed. Opened Dinosaurs Alive!<br />
2013- Planet Snoopy merges with KidZville area to become Cedar Fair&#8217;s largest Planet Snoopy.<br />
2014- Singing Mushrooms and floral clock return, Anaconda repainted. Blue ice cream returns. Johnny&#8217;s and Trail&#8217;s End Grill restaurants renamed to their original names, <a href="http://cpfoodblog.com/kings-dominion-food/kings-dominion-dinner-bell/">Dinner Bell</a> (now <a href="http://cpfoodblog.com/park-food-guides/kings-dominion-food/the-mac-bowl/">The Mac Bowl</a>) and <a href="http://cpfoodblog.com/kings-dominion-food/kings-dominion-hungry-hippo/">Hungry Hippo</a>.<br />

2019- Grand Carnivale and Monster Jam premier. Dinosaurs Alive and Volcano: The Blast Coaster removed.</p>
