The whole area called the Wicked Twister midway at Cedar Point has been going through a slow progression over the years, and is about to get a major overhaul.
In the early days of Cedar Point, the Wicked Twister midway was known for classic beachside attractions like the original Wildcat, Space Spiral, Jumbo Jet. Later we saw the evolution of Avalanche Run into Disaster Transport, which ultimately sits as GateKeeper today. The giant Ferris Wheel of course did not always sit where it currently resides, originally being located over near Millennium Force and behind the train station. Then in order to accommodate the construction of Valravn in 2016, Tiki Twirl was relocated to the Wicked Twister midway.
Of course we also have memories of Sealand being changed into Oceana, Aquatic Stadium, and Extreme Sports Stadium.
In 2001 a portion of the aquarium was removed to accommodate the construction of Wicked Twister. Then at the end of the 2017 season the stadium was completely removed, giving us our first insight of new things to come.
The current state of the Wicked Twister midway has sat in silence now for a number of years, waiting for the next major change, and that time has finally come.
We would also like to take a look back at some of the additional hints that have been dropped about the demise of Wicked Twister.
Wicked Twister is the only ultra rare pin out of the ride medallions. An employee said it's leaving. What you think @CPFoodBlog ? pic.twitter.com/pCn1bSawJq
