Our family was lucky to be chosen to take part in this summers inaugural Coaster Campout event at Cedar Point. As part of a select group of people chosen to camp inside the park, we were also given access to the park Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19, as well as were served dinner, breakfast, and some other surprise treats. So lets take a look at the dining highlights.

To start off, immediately upon registering for the event and receiving your credentials, along with a Coaster Campout blanket, each person received a voucher for a free order of Fresh Cut Fries (voucher had to be used by 7/19/14). For the curious, the voucher was only valid for a regular order and not the garlic Parmesan version.

Dinner was served at 6:30 PM in the Point Pavilion. Guests were invited to a buffet of Shearer’s Classic potato chips, macaroni and potato salads, hot penne marinara, hot dogs, brats, and hamburgers. In addition, individual chocolate chip cookies and soft drinks were served.

We do not think many people went away hungry and the food was served hot and fresh and was really good.

Following completion of everyone setting up tents, and Exclusive Ride Times (ERT), we were served warm S’mores at Roundup, along with soft drinks around 11:00 PM.

The following morning, breakfast was served from 7-9:00 AM at Coaster’s Drive-in. Guests were treated to assorted pastries, yogurt with fresh blueberries and granola, and scrambled eggs with chopped ham and cheese.

While dinner was good, breakfast was ok. The pastries were rather dry, and I do not eat eggs. The yogurt with fresh blueberries and granola though was great!

Overall, we were incredibly gracious to Cedar Point for putting on a fantastic event and providing food to feed their guests.

What did you think of the Coaster Campout food?

The dinner was amazing!
The eggs were good, the yogurt was good but the pastries were a bit dry as you said.
I enjoyed everything about Coaster Campout.
