SANTA CLARA, CA – Today, California’s Great America announced that Manuel “Manny” Gonzalez, an executive with global experience in the entertainment and hospitality industries, has joined the park as Vice President and General Manager.
Prior to joining California’s Great America, Gonzalez served as Managing Partner at RX Entertainment, a global attraction and consulting group. He has also held leadership roles at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, The Miami-Dade Zoological Park and Gardens, and Six Flags, where he oversaw tremendous growth and expansion, including opening the company’s first international park in Mexico.
“I am honored to bring my experience as a leader in the attractions industry to California’s Great America,” said Gonzalez. “Guests will see many exciting new developments at the park in the years to come, and I look forward to leading this next wave of growth.”
Gonzalez’s experience in driving strategic growth, as well as his background in master planning and development, will play a critical role in helping California’s Great America achieve its long-term vision. The park is currently undergoing a multi-year transformation following the City of Santa Clara’s approval of the park’s master plan.
Raul Rehnborg, California’s Great America’s former general manager and vice president, replaces Brad Marcy at Valleyfair.
