Later this summer the merger between Six Flags and Cedar Fair is anticipated to be finalized. With the combined company, the new Six Flags branded company will be home to a portfolio of 27 amusement parks, 15 water parks and 9 resort properties across 17 states in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
So we were curious, once the parks are combined under a common umbrella, what will the fastest roller coasters be under the companies portfolio?
10. Nitro (Six Flags Great Adventure (Jackson, New Jersey) and Diamondback (Kings Island (Mason, Ohio)))
Starting off the list, two roller coasters tie for 10th place at a top speed of 80 mph.
9. Xcelerator (Knott’s Berry Farm (Buena Park, California))
Head out to California for the very popular hydraulic launch coaster clocking in at 82 mph.
8. Goliath (Six Flags Magic Mountain (Valencia, California) and Titan (Six Flags Over Texas (Arlington, Texas)))
Two Six Flags branded parks tie for the 8th spot at 85 mph.
7. Intimidator 305 (Kings Dominion (Doswell, Virginia))
One of our personal favorites for the incredible g-forces following the first drop, this roller coaster tops out at 90 mph.
6. Orion (Kings Island (Mason, Ohio))
One of the newest roller coasters to make the list, Orion pulls 91 mph.
5. Millennium Force (Cedar Point (Sandusky, Ohio))
Ask any roller coaster fan, and this coaster at 93 mph is typically always near the top of their favorites.
4. Fury 325 (Carowinds (Charlotte, North Carolina))
A personal favorite as the speed hauls throughout the run at 95 mph.
3. Superman: Escape from Krypton (Six Flags Magic Mountain (Valencia, California))
This is one of the more unique style coasters, climbing the list at 100 mph in 7 seconds.
2. Top Thrill 2 (Cedar Point (Sandusky, Ohio))
One of the most anticipated new roller coasters for 2024 is of course the reimagined Top Thrill, topping out at 120 mph to climb over the 420 foot tower.
1. Kingda Ka (Six Flags Great Adventure (Jackson, New Jersey))
Still reigning supreme when it comes to speed, Kingda Ka launches at 128 mph.
