When we first started on the CPFoodBlog journey back in 2014, we had no idea of what it could become. Would guests really care that we posted information about burger, chicken tenders and cotton candy? Back then, there really was not much to the food scene at Cedar Fair parks.
What we did know was that if we put in a lot of hard work, this project had some potential. However, we quickly learned that we could not do it alone.
That is why from the very first days of the project, we reached out to everyone in the community. From the relationships we built, we learned it was better to build the community as a whole. Graciously, most people embraced that proposition, and others selfishly to look out for themselves. To each their own, but we have found great success working with others in the community.
That is why on social media, you will often see us share other people’s content. Lets face it. No matter how big a team we build, we can never be everywhere all at once. This is a community that one should embrace if they want to see success.
This is why for 2023 we are launching a new initiative.
We strongly believe in long form written content. It provides historical relevance, can easily be referenced, and most importantly to us and how we process information, can easily be edited and updated in the future.
That is why you do not see us dabbling much into the realm of video content and YouTube. While we get society as a whole has moved in a short term video direction, it is not our foremost content goal.
While we have our own opinions of video creation, it is something we want to start incorporating more into our written content, but this is where you and the community come into the bigger picture.
We want to start embedding your video content into our written stories.
We recently executed this concept in a recent article talking about the Cedar Point beach bungalows.
The goal is to build content and supplement each others information. We provide the written content, you provide the subsequent video content, and we both use our social platforms to cross drive traffic to each others content.
Is this something you are interested in partnering on? Then please use the below form to submit your story ideas.
Below are a couple “rules” we want to hold for these new partnerships.
1) Video content must be specific to an agreed upon content subject.
2) Sorry but we do not want videos with “throw spaghetti at the wall” prediction videos. We go through a strict vetting process to verify information and follow park rules.
3) Video content must be family friendly appropriate with out excessive language or adult content. It must also follow park rules.
4) Your follower count does not matter to us. We are looking for video content creators big or small.
5) We proudly accept video content with real world feedback and critique. We do not want just cookie cutter, everything is great, butt-kissing content. Create your own unique voice that is genuine. That is why when we post food reviews, we always post a positive and negative to show both sides of the coin.
6) In return for using your video to supplement our written content, we kindly request when discussing food at a Cedar Fair park to incorporate referencing the CPFoodBlog for further information.
7) Rules subject to modification as situations arise.
Feel free to ask questions.
With your help, we can continue to build a better community.
