Demand for amusement parks has never been higher. With more people in the parks, specifically Cedar Point, has seen long waits for rides not only for guests waiting in the normal queue, but also those waiting in the Fast Lane queue. With Fast Lane waits often reaching an hour or more, it was time for the company to relook at the Fast Lane system in general.
Many consider the Fast Lane system a way for the parks to allow line cutting for profit, when it is specifically a rule that the parks attempt to enforce. However, for guests that only get to visit maybe once a year, being able to use Fast Lane is a lifeline for getting to ride as much as possible.
Over the past several weeks, we have seen Cedar Point promptly run up the cost of the Fast Lane program to as high as $249 on Saturdays to counteract demand.
Then we had the unfortunate incident on Top Thrill Dragster which is an incredibly sad situation for all involved. As a result of the accident, Cedar Point announced the closure of Top Thrill Dragster for at least the rest of 2021.
Top Thrill Dragster was one of the Fast Lane Plus attractions along with Millennium Force, Maverick and Steel Vengeance.
So effective today, Cedar Point has amended the Fast Lane Plus program to include Valravn.
