Monster Jam has partnered with Cedar Point in 2019 to bring Thunder Alley to the park from May 18 through June 30! If you love seeing the huge vehicles that compete in various events across the country each year, this is your chance to see them up close and personal!
Cedar Point and Feld Motor Sports, Inc. are bringing not only the trucks to the park, but also a bunch of other activities that will be perfect for families!
Thunder Alley is free with park admission.
Scheduled Monster Jam trucks include Grave Digger, El Toro Loco, Zombie, Megalodon and Max-D!
Guests will be able to get photos with the trucks, sit inside one, and even sign up to experience a freestyle ride on a 10 passenger Grave Digger® or Megalodon® truck!
Additional activities include a play area for kids to race die-cast replicas of Monster Jam trucks. A Build-a-Truck experience is available for an additional charge.
Guests will also be able to experience the Monster Jam Garage where they can learn how to work on a real monster truck!
In addition, special Monster Jam merchandise and food will be available for purchase during the event.
While most Thunder Alley experiences are included with park admission, Cedar Point is also selling a special VIP package.
For $29.99 each, guests can purchase the VIP package that includes:
– Preferred Parking
– Monster Jam Thunder Alley VIP Lanyard and Credentials
– Guaranteed reserved ride time on Monster Jam Freestyle Ride Truck*
– Your choice of one of the following: Build-a-Truck Kit, Monster Jam Drawstring Bag or 2019 Monster Jam Souvenir Guide
For guests that need admission to Cedar Point, they are offering a special $69.99 package that includes:
– Single day admission to Cedar Point
– Preferred Parking
– Monster Jam Thunder Alley VIP Lanyard and Credentials
– Guaranteed reserved ride time on Monster Jam Freestyle Ride Truck*
– Your choice of one of the following: Build-a-Truck Kit, Monster Jam Drawstring Bag or 2019 Monster Jam Souvenir Guide
The event is also scheduled for Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia, July 20-September 2; and Dorney Park in Allentown, Pennsylvania, September 14-November 3.
What is very interesting, and perhaps a weird coincidence, is back in November, at the 2018 IAAPA Attractions Expo in Orlando, Feld Entertainment showed off concept art of their latest idea, a Monster Jam roller coaster inspired by the iconic Grave Digger truck. Feld’s proposed ride will allow guests to experience backflips, corkscrews, saves and big air moments that the real Grave Digger drivers experience in their 12,000 lb. Monster Jam trucks during Freestyle competitions. Could this be a predecessor of what is to come?
Cedar Fair CEO Richard Zimmerman said “Partnering with Feld Entertainment brings together two of the world’s premier entertainment companies. The combination of our shared capabilities will enhance our ability to deliver an even broader and more immersive guest experience. The opportunity to bring Monster Jam Thunder Alley exclusively to our parks represents the first installment of our strategic collaboration and is another demonstration of Cedar Fair’s commitment to delivering unique guest experiences, while also introducing our parks to Monster Jam’s legion of worldwide fans. We look forward to further collaboration on additional compelling entertainment and experiences.”
That last line there could possibly be the tie-in to a future attraction coming to a Cedar Fair park in the future!
