We love a good deal! That is why we are always looking out for the best of the best deals to save our family the most money, which in turns affords us the opportunity to travel again down the line.

Right now Expedia is running an interesting Mastercard promotion, giving guests a $75 instant savings on hotel stays of $300 or more.

How it works is visit Expedia and search for a hotel only booking. Can not be used for combination bookings (i.e. flight + hotel or flight + hotel + car). (Note: We are a partner of Expedia and earn a commission if you choose to use our affiliate link above.)

Bookings must be made before September 28, 2018 or when the number of available offers have been exhausted whichever occurs first. Travel dates must be between September 4, 2018 and May 31, 2019.

After finding a hotel and dates that work for you, enter promo code MASTERCARD75, and you will instantly see a $75 discount off the price of your hotel! You also must add your Mastercard to your account and pay using the card on Expedia.

We ran an example of Cedar Point for opening weekend of Halloweekends, September 14-16.

Cedar Point Hotel Breakers

Hotel Breakers rings up at $272/night, or $618.78 after taxes. Entering the promo code drops the price to $543.78 all in for two nights. For comparison, this same exact room comes up as $618.80 on the Cedar Point website, meaning this Expedia promo really is a great savings! Also note, we were not able to get a season passholder rate for the selected weekend at Hotel Breakers.

Cedar Point Express Hotel

We also price shopped Cedar Point’s Express Hotel. At $154/night, or $350.34 after taxes, the promo code drops the price to $275.34. The rack rate is $350.35, while the passholder rate on the Cedar Point website is $315.30. Again big savings using the Expedia offer.

Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel

We were curious if the offer would work with the Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel for Scary Farm. While a lot of dates are coming back as sold out, we were able to find September 26-29 at a nightly rate of $125.66 or $429.75 after taxes. Using the Expedia promo code, it drops the price to $354.75 for three nights! Booking directly on the Knott’s website gives a rack rate of $429.78. We could not get passholder rates to come up for the selected dates.

Really this promo will save your family money on any non-chain branded hotel, meaning you could use it for any hotel going all the way past spring break next year.
