Premier Rides and Canada’s Wonderland have announced their 2025 project that will launch gets out of Wonder Mountain and through 9 inversions on 3,280 feet of track. Presenting AlpenFury, the story of local villagers celebrating the mythical union of fire and ice coming from inside the mountain.

AlpenFury will be the longest, tallest and fastest launch coaster in Canada. When fire and ice come together inside the mysterious Wonder Mountain, the force will propel riders into a thrilling journey beginning with a launch that blasts the train out the summit, 164 feet into the sky. The coaster will reach speeds of 71 mph, flipping and twisting through nine breathtaking inversions – the most of any launch coaster in North America.

“AlpenFury is a world-class attraction, and we’re excited for the unique thrills it will offer our guests,” said Phil Liggett, general manager at Canada’s Wonderland. “The combination of being blasted out of Wonder Mountain, and then racing through nine inversions one right after the other, is going to be an experience guests won’t soon forget.”

Designed by Premier Rides, AlpenFury will be the park’s 19th roller coaster, the fourth to interact with Wonder Mountain and the signature attraction in Alpenfest, which will be officially designated a themed area of the park next year.

It is in this village that guests will find themselves at a festival celebrating the mystical union of fire and ice. A sled haus offers a journey aboard a sleek, modern sled into the heart of Wonder Mountain where this powerful, natural force awaits.

AlpenFury Ride Experience

The new Premier Rides coaster will feature a double launch. The first will be after boarding and leaving the station, where the train will be launched into Wonder Mountain. The second launch comes as you are propelled out the top of the mountain.

AlpenFury will also feature three new elements never seen before on a roller coaster.

Fire Serpent Roll is a distant relation to the Sea Serpent Roll, twisting and inverting riders through weightlessness and two unparallelled train-to-track near-miss interactions in a single element.

Skyflyer Loop pays homage to the park’s former attraction and features an ascending helix that crests into a zero-G stall before diving into an inverting, descending roll.

Ice Winder Roll twists and then untwists riders in two inversions as they ascend and descend through an overbanked hill.

Remember when Yukon Striker was introduced and guests were in awe of not only the dive element heading into an underground lake tunnel, but also the interaction with the Vortex roller coaster?

Well AlpenFury takes that up a notch, being the fourth attraction to traverse through Wonder Mountain along with Thunder Run, Wonder Mountain Guardian, and Vortex. This means close encounters with all three other coasters which should make for some great photo ops.

The surrounding area around Wonder Mountain will also feature additional theme elements to bring the village and festival all into alignment.

With the announcement of AlpenFury, 2025 season passes are now on sale at the lowest price, which includes access to Halloween Haunt and Winterfest with the Gold Pass.
