A version of the Cedar Point Nights events has been taking place every year since 2014, with the exception of 2023 when the park eliminated it. For 2024, the event is once again being rebranded, this time as Boardwalk Nights.
Boardwalk Nights will take place nightly from July 19 through August 18, dark Tuesdays. The event runs from 7-10pm.
Details have now been released, and this might be the most excited we have ever been for the event to return.
For starters, Cedar Point is bringing in a whole team of special live entertainment that includes “high dive daredevils, fire manipulators, extreme teeter tottering, hand-to-hand human balancing, synchronized kite flying and the ultimate test of skill on the 40-foot-tall Wheel of Destiny.”
Did we mention all of that amazing entertainment is included free with admission? Yeah, seeing these types of acts alone at a show would cost as much as a day pass to the park, making it an incredible value.
Guests may recall during the 150th celebration and the costumed characters walking around dressed as popcorn buckets and cotton candy. Boardwalk Nights will be bringing them back as walkabout interactions. Plus Cedar Point is bringing in a brass band to play on the Boardwalk. Can you say awesome!
While pricing details for food is still limited, we do know they will be operating using Boardwalk Bucks that can be used towards food, beverage and retail locations. They are not valid at roaming vendor carts, or any other service in the park like the arcade, lockers, Build-a-Bear, etc.
It will be interesting to see in the cashless park if they hand out specific Boardwalk Bucks to be redeemed.
Of course one of our personal favorite aspects of the Cedar Point Nights event is the specialty menu items. Typically not included on the dining plan, menu items are to include flavored popcorns, cotton candy, loaded footlong hot dogs with pulled pork, mac n cheese, and various sauces. Some specialty cocktails are to include spiked ICEE drinks (not valid with drink plan plus).
Lastly, for the first time that we can recall, Cedar Point will offer nightly fireworks as part of Boardwalk Nights. Typically they only do them over the 4th of July, so this is an exciting addition.
Of course the focus of Boardwalk Nights is enjoying the beach. Take in the DJ, play sand games and enjoy the fire pits.
Trust us when we say Cedar Point Nights always ranks up there as one of our favorite events, and this iteration as Boardwalk Nights sounds amazing!
