So lets start out with what we already know from previous announcements.
Cedar Point will introduced the all new Grand Pavilion as part of the new Boardwalk experience. The facility will accommodate a new quick service restaurant offering new unique island inspired menu items, and yes it will be on the dining plan. We will have the first look of the new options in the coming week.
While early discussions called for possibly multiple dining venues in the Grand Pavilion, the main floor will offer the dining. Upstairs will feature the waterfront bar with indoor and outdoor seating.
For guests looking for the old CP Juice Company stand, it is no more. The building has been removed, just like Scrambler and Matterhorn have been relocated to the Boardwalk. Word on the street is the sippers will still be available at select other food stands like up at French Quarter Confections.
Jumping back over to the Boardwalk, The Roost food stand, which was adjacent to the kids bumper cars, was removed. Not much of a loss considering in the years of its rebranding we never saw it open once.
The Dive Inn has been removed.
As discussed during the Winter Chill Out event, Wild Turnip will not open for the 2023 season. For now, we are not aware of a replacement.
Further down the midway, Chick-fil-A has once again been removed. We can now announce that the Frontier Inn is back again! The Frontier Inn operated at Cedar Point from 1973-2006. At that point Chick-fil-A moved in from 2007 to 2015. Starting in 2016, Cedar Point opted to again try and push their own menu, and Frontier Inn was back in until the end of the 2017 season. What happened then? You guessed it, Chick-fil-A was back again, this time taking up the building space from 2018-2022. With the contract again ending, Cedar Point has again opted to bring back the Frontier Inn.
The new Frontier Inn is now tied into the whole Frontier Town storyline.
With the popularity of The Martin Family’s Farmhouse Kitchen & Grill just across the way, Beauregard “Maverick” Chamberlain couldn’t let them have all of Frontier Town’s financial success! So, Mr. Chamberlain envisioned a restaurant where stagecoach travelers, train passengers and miners alike could get their hot meals quickly. What transpired is his latest business venture – Frontier Inn.
The menu at Frontier Inn will now feature French bread pizzas of cheese and pepperoni, burgers (including a new-to-Frontier Town bratwurst burger with pretzel bun), boneless chicken tenders, fries and for dessert, brookies and fresh pastries. Yes, Frontier Inn will be on the dining plan.
At this point, it does not sound like Dragon’s Inn, Wagon Wheel Pizza or Stockade will be open any longer, with most the Frontier Town food now being primarily located in Farmhouse and Frontier Inn. These are subject to change.
Jumping up to the front of the park, the former Senor Vargas’ Walking Taco is now being converted to a bar. This makes sense given there is always a busy beer cart outside the building. The new location will now be called Bar 1870. In addition to canned cocktails, frozen cocktails, beer, cider and seltzers, fresh popcorn is also on the menu.
For guests looking for the Walking Taco, it is now relocated over to Derby Dogs.
Nearby, Chickie’s & Pete’s will be back for the 2023 season despite them closing for HalloWeekends in 2022 and rumors were abuzz of it being removed. Sit tight, the contract has been extended, at least for a little while.
The same can not be said for Johnny Rockets though across the midway. Also shuttered during HalloWeekends 2022, this restaurant will not reopen. Instead the building will be turned into games. However, sorry folks. Despite this building having the history of Fascination, the iconic game will not be back.
While the Mac Shack happened to be hit or miss with guests (we were not all fans since it lacked much flavor), this stand will not reopen for 2023.
Around the corner by GateKeeper, while it is unknown if Lakeside Express will open for the 2023 season (it tends to open last depending on staffing, though we expect that to change for this year since they are highlighting the Boardwalk), there will be a new Boardwalk Cotton Candy in operation. This location offers fresh spun cotton candy, popcorn, fresh-squeezed lemonade and ICEE.
For those that are inevitably going to ask, we have a preliminary dining plan list, but it will not be published until after the park opens and we can verify all the menus. Look for this to happen hopefully Friday, May 5.

I am searching for vegan options on the meal plan. Seems like everything is gone that had vegan entrees. Is there a plan to remedy this? For us, buying the annual good plan is a bust this year. disappointed . We are ☹️
