<p>Welcome to our annual review of the next season&#8217;s passes from across the Cedar Fair family of amusement parks. </p>
<p>Every August when Cedar Fair parks release their next season passes, it is the cheapest time of the year to purchase or renew. This year, several parks are the first out of the gate to release their 2023 pass details (Michigan&#8217;s Adventure and Schlitterbahn), which also gives us the first glimpse at what to expect at other parks, specifically for Platinum passholders where the prices remain the same across all parks. Other parks passes and add-ons will be populated as more news is released.</p>
<h2>2023 Cedar Fair Season Pass News</h2>
<p>2023 season passes are good for the remainder of 2022. Typically add-ons are not valid in the current year. 2023 Platinum dining is good in 2022 only at park of purchase; valid at all Cedar Fair properties in 2023.</p>
<p>New for 2023, Cedar Fair is rolling out a new tier of season pass, the Prestige Pass and Prestige+ Pass. </p>
<p>The Prestige Pass, as of the time of writing, are only available at Carowinds, Cedar Point and Kings Island (8/4/22).</p>

<p>This new tier is similar to the Platinum pass. Where the pass offers a premium is with the following benefits:</p>
<p>&#8211; 1 Free Fast Lane Plus when you purchase by August 14, 2022 (Kings Island and Carowinds only)<br />
&#8211; 15% off food and merchandise<br />
&#8211; Enhanced Pass Perk Rewards, but we do not have much faith in the program (<a href="https://cpfoodblog.com/new-cedar-fair-rewards-program-pass-perks/">Pass Perks Analysis</a>).<br />
&#8211; Preferred Parking<br />
&#8211; Preferred Dedicated Entrance (2 hours each morning; does not mean 2 hours of ERT)<br />
&#8211; 1 Front of the Line Pass per visit (good for Fast Lane Plus attraction)<br />
&#8211; 2 Bring-a-Friend tickets per year (guests get same benefits for day as Prestige members)<br />
&#8211; Access to VIP area<br />
&#8211; Access to waterpark VIP area</p>
<p>Prestige+ offers the following additional benefits:<br />
&#8211; 15% off food and merchandise to all &#8220;Cedar Fair Parks&#8221;<br />
&#8211; Unlimited visits to all &#8220;Cedar Fair Parks&#8221;</p>
<p>For those that purchase the Prestige or Prestige+ pass in 2022, you will be able to utilize all the benefits this year except preferred parking, preferred entrances, and reserved VIP waterpark areas (all coming in 2023).</p>
<p>If you start digging into the legal terms and conditions of the Prestige and Prestige+ passes, here is some additional interesting details.</p>
<p>Prestige is only valid at park of purchase, including parking. So this pass does not operate like a Platinum pass, good at all parks.</p>
<p>Prestige+ is like a Platinum pass and good at ALL Cedar Fair properties, with the exception of Castaway Bay and Knotts Scary Farm.</p>

no park has 2023 prices listed. Do not know where you're claiming thee price from. You claim Platinum renewal is $240. it was $202 last year. Cedar Fair ha never done that massive od an increase, the increases are literally $2 to $3 per year for renewals on PLatinum, The $250 price for new is the 2022 price now. You guys are out over your skis on this
Try looking up the 2023 season passes on both the Michigan's Adventure and Schlitterbahn websites, and then try rethinking your comment.
Have you see the price increases from Six Flags and SeaWorld? I would be happy with this modest increase compared to what they've been doing. Tbh I was worried they would double the price; but, the risk of a recession probably gives them pause to go to far. I've noticed Six Flags has been suffering since they raised rates, cut benefits, and basically eliminated their dining pass.
That’s a big increase from last year I paid $202.00 now you want $240.00 wow don’t think I will renew my pass for 2023
And that's an example of the price increase working as intended. They have underpriced and oversold their passes for years. They have finally corrected the problem.

There is a prestige $299 & prestige plus $399 pass offered at Cedar Point. Do not know if it will be at all parks.
I was reading the terms and conditions, it looks like the only parks that will be participating in this pass for 2023 at this time will be Cedar Point, Carowinds, and Kings Island. Carowinds and Kings Island both have not announced what benefits you get.

Wonderful! Thank you for posting these. I am wondering that with these parks, would I have access to their parks PP+ benefits when traveling to these three parks? Hmmm need to ask.
I did find out that PP+ is 2hrs early entry!!! Heehee
For clarification, the Preferred Dedicated Entrance means 2 hours each morning when gates normally open; this does not mean 2 hours of ERT before the gates open. So if the gate normally open at 10, it means you will have a dedicated entrance from 10-12 (adjust for any early entry periods).
@Justin - I was just on the phone with Cedar Point and they mentioned it was two hours early entry; BUT they could easily be misspoken as they just got this information at 8a before the emails went out. 2 hour different entrance makes way more sense, but 2 hours early entry would make this an incredible pass.
We have been Platinum Passes (PP) since their inception. While this is the biggest increase in price so far, I might be OK with it if we do not lose benefits. What I am seeing on-line so far is, the PP will no longer have food or merchandise discounts. It might be a minor thing, but when you increase in price but remove a perk, what is next? I am curious exactly where the 'water park VIP area' will be. I fear they will convert the adult pool at CP for this 'perk' for the Prestige Pass holders. If so, this is a deal breaker for me.
My biggest question is whether the single use fast lanes will have to be used the same day. I haven’t seen anything on this yet, but since the ones you get for getting stuck on a train etc don’t have to be used that day, I’m hoping these are the same and you dan save them.

Now that all the 2023 pass information has been published, Cedar Fair seems to have some conflicting information on their websites, that you will find if you go in to make the purchase for each add-on.
The following parks state, "Dining Plan added to a Platinum Pass is valid at all Cedar Fair parks. Valid only at park of purchase in 2022. Valid at all Cedar Fair parks in 2023."

looling for season passes for 2023 season for Kings Island for family of 4 to include 2 days at Cedar point. Also looking to rent a cabin at Kings for an entire week for said family for 5-6 persons. No info can be found at this time and I want to get the reservations in for all said for the last week of grand carnivale. Would like infor for all particulars so I can make my reservations asap. Have some season passes for last year for 3 persons. Waiting to hear from you.
