If you paid attention to the 2019 Valleyfair Dining Plan guide we released, you would have seen a sneak peak into some of the Valleyfair new food & beverage options this season. During the off-season, the park was busy preparing lots of new options under the direction of new Executive Chef Dave Whitmer.
So lets take a look at the 2019 Valleyfair New Food & Beverage Options!
Roasted Elote
One of our favorite menu items to be popping up at amusement parks is elote, and what better park to offer it than Valleyfair, that offers the Corn Festival each year.
The elote takes an ear of corn, slathers on some lime aioli, and coats it in chili powder and queso fresco. There are many variations of this floating around, so we are excited to see if the Valleyfair version expands. Available at the Corn Cart for $4.99.
Mostaccioli
Is there anything more comforting than a big bowl of pasta? Seriously, carbs are delicious! Valleyfair will offer a Mostaccioli pasta dish this season.
Featuring a penne style noodle, and a red sauce with melted cheese. Yes please.
Flamin’ Hot Cheetos Fried Pickles
You want different? Is a fried pickle just not enough? Valleyfair will be ramping it up this season by offering a fried pickle that has been dipped in a Flamin’ Hot Cheetos batter for some zing! Available at Wild Thing Pronto Pups for $4.99.
Gluten Free Hash Brown and Hollandaise Burger
Burger. Cheese, Bacon. That is just boring! Valleyfair brings FUN to the midway this summer by offering a bacon cheeseburger wrapped in a hashbrown in lieu of a bun. Not to mention this burger is gluten free!
Route 76 Hot Dog Stand
New this season at the Route 76 Hot Dog Stand are three specialty hot dogs that scream FUN. Why would you settle for just your average ketchup and mustard dog, when you can have these specialty creations.
– Cubano Mac & Cheese Hot Dog: featuring pulled pork, pickled onion, drizzle of cheese sauce
– Lobster Mac & Cheese Hot Dog: you heard that right; lobster macaroni and cheese loaded on top
– Giardiniera Hot Dog: marinated vegetables topped on a hot dog
Flavored Cotton Candy
Birthday Cake. Grape Sizzle. S’mores. Yeah they may sound like desserts, but these are new featured cotton candy flavors this season at the Valleyfair Cotton Candy stand.
Nutella & Oreo Pizza
Sure you can still find your traditional pizza when visiting Valleyfair. What if you could get a Nutella and Oreo cookie pizza? Your dreams have come true!
Chicken & Waffles
There are many versions of chicken & waffles, but Valleyfair has concocted an easy way to enjoy one walking around the park. Waffle cone. Mashed potatoes. Hand Breaded Chicken Tender. Gravy.
Baseball Hat Ice Cream Sundaes
We can’t be the only ones who miss the ice cream sundaes served in a baseball helmet from our childhood. The excitement of seeing which team you will receive was just as exciting as the treat. Valleyfair is bringing them back for the 2019 season!
New Salad Options
Always a high request item, Valleyfair will be offering new fresh salad options this season.
El Taco Mercado
The former Sidewinder Burrito stand has been converted to El Taco Mercado and offering some fresh takes on traditional Mexican street tacos.
• Minnesota Taco (Ground beef, shredded cheese, lettuce, tomato)
• Al Pastor (Carnitas) Taco (Carnitas, green salsa, white onion, catija)
• Fire Roasted Pollo Taco (chicken, corn, salsa, queso)
Valleyfair Adult Beverages
Some other exciting food and beverage news coming out of Valleyfair in in the adult beverage category.
The park has extended their partnership with Badger Hill Brewing Co. to offer an exclusive Valleyfair Ah Shucks Corn Ale.
In addition, a new partnership with Tattersall Distilling will provide spirits for signature Valleyfair Rum Punch and Wild Thing Sling beverages.
“Valleyfair Rum Punch will be introduced at The Depot, Breaker’s Bay Bar, private catered events, and special events such as Minnesota Eats. This fruity drink is the perfect mixture of Valleyfair’s single barrel rum, orange crema, strawberry, and apple. ”
Wild Thing Sling “begins with a base of Valleyfair’s single barrel rum and is topped with pineapple and lime juice.”
Depot Refreshments
Finally, one of the most exciting new developments coming out of the Valleyfair food and beverage team for the 2019 season is monthly menu rotation for Depot Refreshments featuring local chefs.
June will feature Iron Chef Justin Sutherland and some menu items from his Handsome Hog restaurant. Menu items including Shrimp Po Boy, Brisket Sandwich, Buttermilk & Dry Rub Wings, and Carolina Pulled Pork. Sides will include Mac N Cheese, Wedges, Slaw, and Hushpuppies.
